Karlsson (groin) disclosed Friday that he won't be ready to rejoin the action "anytime soon," but said he will be back for the start of the playoffs and hopes to play a few games before then, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Karlsson's status has gotten gloomier by the day. Just Tuesday, he was only ruled out for the next two games, but it appears he's headed for an extended absence that could last as far as the remainder of the regular season. The Sharks lose out on some offensive potency from the blue line down the stretch without the star defenseman, who has tallied three goals and 42 assists through 52 contests. Karlsson can be dropped in extremely shallow leagues, though he could still be worth a bench stash in select others to see whether a late-season return is in the cards.

Karlsson (groin) will be sidelined for the Sharks' next two games, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
At this point, the Sharks have little incentive to rush Karlsson back into the lineup and are probably better suited to let him get back to 100 percent. The world-class defender has already missed 12 of the team's previous 17 contests due to injury. As a result, the Swede figures to miss the 60-point mark for the first time since the lockout shortened 2012-13 campaign.

Karlsson will miss at least a week with a suspected groin injury, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
This unfortunate news was relayed from Sharks coach Peter DeBoer, who spoke in reference to Karlsson's injury from Tuesday's game against the Bruins. The stud blueliner will have a tough time matching the 62-point output that he accrued as a Senator last season -- especially with consideration this latest injury -- but EK65 still has three goals and 42 helpers donning the Toothed Teal. Expect Joakim Ryan and/or Tim Heed to step up in his absence.

Karlsson (groin) was absent from the bench to start the third period of Tuesday's game versus the Bruins, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
In the second period, Karlsson went down in major pain with an apparent groin injury and went straight the the locker room. Every missing a few shifts there, he returned to the ice but was clearly still in pain and couldn't fulfill his duties to the normal caliber. Now it appears the team will hold him out for the rest of the game so the full extent of his injury can be evaluated.

Karlsson (groin) returned to Tuesday's game versus the Bruins, Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
He left briefly after sustaining what looked like another painful groin injury, but the star defenseman will battle through it. Karlsson still appeared to be laboring when he took his first shift, as Brad Marchand dangled around him and scored. Nevertheless, his return signals the injury may not be as serious as it was initially reported.

Karlsson (groin) exited Tuesday's game versus the Bruins with an apparent groin injury, Brodie Brazil of NBC Sports California reports.
EDGE Analysis
He yelled out in pain as he went down to the ice and immediately limped to the locker room. Karlsson's been battling a groin injury for a while now, and he missed last game because of it. He could be facing another extended absence, but there likely won't be an update until at least the post-game presser.

Karlsson (groin) will rejoin the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Bruins, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Karlsson should retake his spot in the top pairing and on the top power-play unit after missing Sunday's tilt against Detroit after suffering a groin injury against the Blue Jackets on Saturday. The star blueliner is overdue to find the back of the net, converting at a career-low 1.8 shooting percentage, though he's collecting assists at nearly a career-high rate, notching 42 through 51 games.

Karlsson (groin) won't play in Sunday's game versus the Red Wings, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Karlsson aggravated his existing groin injury in Saturday's loss to the Blue Jackets. This will be the 10th time in the last 14 games Karlsson sits out. Coach Peter DeBoer doesn't have a specific timeline for Karlsson's return, and Justin Braun is expected to bump into the second pairing as a result.

Karlsson exited Saturday's loss to Columbus after aggravating a recent groin injury, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Saturday marked just the fourth time Karlsson was in the lineup since missing nine contests with the aforementioned injury. San Jose faces a quick turnaround with a game Sunday in Detroit, so expect the team to provide more information on the Swedish defenseman's status before they get underway.
