Erik Cole recorded two third-period goals as the Montreal Canadiens trounced the Vancouver Canucks 4-1 on Saturday night. It would be easy to expect a team that's in the cellar of the Eastern Conference to lie down on the road after giving up the first goal of the game against a one of the league's best, but credit the Habs for doing none of that. Blake Geoffrion's first at the end of the second period tied it, then Montreal added three in the third period to run away with it. P.K. Subban, on the power play, notched his seventh. Cole's goals were his 25th of the season. He has a slim chance of topping his career-high of 30 this year. Subban has six points over his last four games.

The NHL will not suspend Erik Cole for his hit on Adam Larsson. In fact, the league decided it wasn't even necessary to hold a hearing regarding what has been called a head shot. After a slow start, the solid power forward has been playing very well. He has 22 points in 33 games overall.

Erik Cole wishes the crowds in Montreal would boo the home team less often. "Some nights we're in a game that's still to be decided (and) it's not always the most motivating factor to hear the crowd boo you for an extended period of time," Cole said. He went onto say that other teams he played for were aware of this and talked about turning the Montreal crowd against the Canadiens. For that reason, Cole feels "it's important for us to have better starts and gain the momentum." Cole is on a four-game goal scoring streak.
