Erik Cole scored a goal and added an assist in a 4-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Cole played a very strong game for the Habs. A strong body with absolutely blazing speed, Erik Cole figures to be the Habs' long awaited power forward. He has found incredible chemistry with Max Paccioretty who also scored and added an assist in the loss.

Erik Cole extended his point streak to four games on Thursday. Cole has two goals and five points over that span. He's been decent with the Canadiens this season, scoring five goals and 10 points in 19 games. That might not be the kind of offensive production the Canadiens wanted from Cole when he inked a four-year/$18 million contract, but that's pretty close to what you should expect from him.

Erik Cole will face his ex-Carolina teammates on Wednesday night for the first time in a Montreal uniform. The 33-year-old winger inked a four-year, $18 million contract with the Canadiens this past summer, but he has played the majority of his 600-plus career games as a member of the Hurricanes. Cole hasn't been a consistent offensive threat this season, but he does have three points in his last two games.

Erik Cole scored as he helped the Montreal Canadiens beat rival Ottawa Senators 2-1 on Friday. Cole notched his thirds goal as a Hab midway through the second period. Andrei Kostitsyn scored a few minutes later give Montreal a 2-0 lead. They managed to hold on and secure a win. Michael Cammalleri, David Desharnais and Lars Eller all picked up assists.

Erik Cole has two goals and three points in his last three games. That's hardly a breathtaking hot streak, but after recording just one point in his first seven contests, it's nice to see Cole start to produce. It's not that surprising that Cole has struggled so far this season, especially seeing as he had similar problems when he left Carolina the first time to play for Edmonton in 2008-09. That being said, Cole should be able to make the adjustment and end up with 40-50 points this season.

Erik Cole found himself back on Montreal's top line in Sunday's win over Winnipeg. When the Canadiens lost Michael Cammalleri to a cut leg in the contest, Travis Moen joined Cole and Tomas Plekanec on the team's first combination. Cole is still looking for his first point with his new club and he'll be hoping to get on the scoreboard in Montreal's home opener on Thursday night against Calgary.

Erik Cole saw just 1:04 of power play ice time in the Canadiens season-opener against Toronto Thursday night. Cole was inked to a four-year, $18 million dollar contract over the summer, yet there were eight other Montreal forwards who garnered more time with the man advantage than the former Hurricane against the Leafs. One game certainly doesn't make a season, but this doesn't bode well for Cole's current standing with coach Jacques Martin.

Erik Cole was minus-one with no shots on goal in his Canadiens' debut. Of course it was just one game, but what's really telling is that he was on the ice for only 14:38 minutes. Cole is getting third line minutes despite inking a four-year/$18 million deal in the off-season. He had 26 goals and 52 points in 82 games last season, but his numbers will probably regress slightly in Montreal.

Erik Cole will start the 2011-12 season on Montreal's third line. This comes as a bit of a surprise considering he was signed to a four-year deal worth $18 million this past summer to skate in the team's top-six forward group. Cole will play alongside David Desharnais and Mathieu Darche, but should move up the lineup eventually.
