Rittich made 16 saves on 17 shots in Sunday's win over Vancouver.
EDGE Analysis
Aside from a rough outing against the Oilers, Rittich has been solid when called upon this season. The 25-year-old has earned the victory in each of his first three career NHL starts and is sporting a .919 save percentage this season. The Flames seem hesitant to rest Mike Smith, but Rittich is certainly making it easier on them to give their workhorse a night off. We've seen enough from Rittich to recommend him as a spot start when he gets the nod next.

Rittich will guard the cage Sunday against Vancouver, Kristen Odland of the Calgary Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
In Rittich's NHL career he's only played in four games sporting a .911 save percentage and 2.63 GAA in the contests, but was excellent in the minors last season posting a 2.27 GAA and .924 save percentage in 31 games. The 25-year-old will have a favorable matchup against Vancouver, as they currently average the fourth least shots per game in the NHL (29.3) and the sixth least goals scored per game (2.64).

Rittich stopped 35 of 37 shots in Thursday's overtime win over Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
Outdueling Carey Price is no easy task, but that's exactly what Rittich did Thursday evening. He's been excellent in his two starts this season and is sporting a solid .913 save percentage. Considering how he's looked thus far and how well he had been playing for AHL Stockton before the call-up, Rittich could make for a decent spot start whenever he gets the nod.

Rittich will defend the cage against the Canadiens on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Rittich will be making just his second start -- a third appearance -- in the crease this season. The 25-year-old will hope he can perform better than his relief outing versus the Oilers in which he gave up two goals on just six shots. Montreal is firing 34.37 shots per game on opposing netminders (sixth highest in the league), so it could be a heavy workload for Rittich.

Rittich made four saves on six shots in relief of Mike Smith in Saturday's loss to the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
In terms of relief appearances, this one certainly goes down as one of the worst we've seen this season. Rittich started the third period and couldn't come up with a timely save as the Flames rallied with a very impressive comeback effort. We wouldn't read too much into it, however, as Rittich was excellent in his last outing against Colorado. He's yet to see enough crease time for us to know how valuable he can be, but Rittich posted solid numbers at the AHL level and should see the occasional start moving forward.

Rittich stopped 24 of 26 shots for his first NHL victory Saturday against the Avalanche.
EDGE Analysis
With Eddie Lack sent down to AHL Stockton, Rittich has moved into the backup role behind Mike Smith for the time being. He made some key saves against Colorado and could be a decent spot start moving forward. The 25-year-old has posted a .931 save percentage though six appearances in the AHL this season and is off to a great start with the big club.

Rittich will start between the pipes in Saturday's road game against the Avalanche, Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rittich has played well in the minors this season, posting a 5-1-0 record while registering an admirable 2.17 GAA and .931 save percentage in six appearances with AHL Stockton. The 25-year-old goaltender will look to earn a win in his NHL debut Saturday in a tough road matchup with a Colorado team that's 7-1-1 at home this campaign.

Rittich was called up from AHL Stockton Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Conversely, Eddie Lack has been sent down to Stockton, giving Rittich the chance to back up Mike Smith. The 25-year-old has only one game of NHL experience, so he's a bit of an unknown quantity. The Flames must think Rittich has some potential to call him up, though.

Rittich signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Flames on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Rittich appeared in 31 regular-season games with AHL Stockton last season, compiling a 15-11-1 record while registering a 2.27 GAA and .924 save percentage over that span. The 24-year-old will return to his role as AHL Stockton's starting netminder in 2017-18.

Rittich was reassigned to AHL Stockton on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
With the Flames' regular season over, Rittich returns to the minors for some more playing time and to assist Stockton in its run for a Calder Cup Playoff spot. The 24-year-old saw just one period of action in his first stint with the big club and will likely have to wait for next season to make his mark in Calgary, unless of course Chad Johnson (lower body) is unable to return before of during the Flames' Stanley Cup Playoff run.
