After a 27-goal season, Jones has four in six games this season and is gaining more of a reputation as a sharpshooter. Jones says his surgically repaired right knee is stronger now than last season, when he scored his career-high in goals.

David Jones potted the winning goal in Colorado's 3-2 overtime win over Toronto Monday night. Jones scored 1:11 into overtime to give the Colorado Avalanche a 3-2 victory as the Avalanche went 5-0 on their longest road trip of the season. With the overtime marker, Jones now has 4 goals and 5 points in 6 games this year. Daniel Winnik and Milan Hejduk also scored tonight in the win.

Colorado has re-signed winger David Jones to a one-year, $2.5 million contract. Jones broke out in a big way during the 2010-11 campaign with 27 goals and 45 points in 77 games. "He was one of our top offensive players a year ago and is part of the young nucleus of this team," GM Greg Sherman said in a statement regarding the agreement.
