He'd won two straight before Saturday, but it's hard to pad that total if his mates can't find twine at all. Andersen remains a possible trade chip come Monday, so don't be surprised if he moves in a deal. If so, his value goes up, even if he's in a backup role. A backup on a competitive team has to be better than a starter on a bad squad.

The veteran netminder's record on the year now stands at 9-13-2, making Anderson a low-end fantasy option between the pipes.

Per Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, Anderson was the first netminder off the ice at morning skate, which suggests he'll get the start in goal in Tuesday's home game versus Buffalo.

Anderson was rock solid in his last start Sunday against the Stars, stopping 36 of 39 shots en route to a 4-3 win. The veteran backstop will attempt to pick up his ninth victory of the season in a home matchup with a surging Sabres squad that's won three straight games.

Anderson was yanked after allowing four goals on 22 shots against Winnipeg in his last start on Feb. 8. However, he stopped all 14 shots he faced in relief against Toronto on Saturday after starter Marcus Hogberg got the hook. Anderson's 3.21 GAA and .901 save percentage don't make him a very reliable option for the Senators or fantasy owners.

Anderson stopped 18 of 22 shots before being replaced by Marcus Hogberg to begin the third period of Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Jets.

EDGE Analysis

After a couple of solid performances, Anderson slid back into his usual poor form, although he got very little help from the Ottawa blue line. The veteran netminder has given up four goals or more in six of his last eight outings, and on the season Anderson carries a 3.27 GAA and .899 save percentage.
