Schneider will get the starting nod for at least one of the Devils' next four outings, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
While coach John Hynes wouldn't reveal when he might turn the crease over the Schneider, it's certainly a good sign for fantasy owners that the netminder will resume playing in the NHL soon. In his previous nine outings, the 32-year-old went 0-5-1 with a disastrous 4.66 GAA, which eventually saw him shipped down to the minors for a conditioning stint. In eight appearances for AHL Binghamton, Schneider was only slightly better, going 2-4-0 with a .881 save percentage. The team could try to move Schneider before the deadline, but his bad start to the year will only serve to depress his trade value.

The Devils recalled Schneider from his conditioning loan with AHL Binghamton.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider has not performed well in the minors this season with a 2-4-0 record and an .881 save percentage in eight appearances. He'll return to the Devils for Monday's practice and will likely work as the backup to Keith Kinkaid until the team plays back-to-back games starting Saturday versus the Wild.

The Devils assigned Schneider to AHL Binghamton for a conditioning stint, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider was activated off injured reserve Saturday after shaking an abdomen injury, and he needs to get back into hockey shape before returning to the NHL crease. The Devils don't have another game until Jan. 28 versus the Penguins, so it's reasonable that he could be back in the fold by then. With MacKenzie Blackwood and Keith Kinkaid both struggling lately, the crease is open to the next New Jersey goalie to provide a worthy showing.

The Devils activated Schneier (abdomen) off of injured reserve Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
With the All-Star break ahead, it appears the Devils are leaving no doubt that Schneider will be ready for the first game of the second half against the Penguins on Jan. 28. Mackenzie Blackwood was shipped back to AHL Binghamton to get in some playing time during the recess, but it's possible he will rejoin the NHL squad afterward. If not, Schneider and Keith Kinkaid will handle the goaltending duties.

Schneider (abdomen) took pucks for the first time Thursday as he works his way back into the lineup, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Schneider wasn't able to join his teammates on the ice for practice, the fact that he has been cleared to see some shots from the coaching staff is a sign he is progressing. For now, fantasy owners can probably consider the netminder week-to-week, but once he hits the ice for practice, he'll no doubt be upgraded to day-to-day.

Schneider (abdomen) began doing some off-ice work Friday, Matt Loughlin of the reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider's return to the lineup doesn't appear to be imminent, but his ability to do some off-ice participation marks a step in the right direction. Keith Kinkaid should continue to work as the primary netminder for the Devils, with MacKenzie Blackwood serving as the backup.

Schneider was placed on injured reserve with an abdominal strain Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Once upon a time, the loss of Schneider would concern the Devils, but it's been a while since the American has been a reliable goalie. In fact, this year he has a 4.66 GAA and .852 save percentage. Mackenzie Blackwood has been called up to back up Keith Kinkaid.

Schneider stopped only four of seven shots before getting replaced by Keith Kinkaid in Friday's 5-4 overtime win over the Golden Knights.
EDGE Analysis
His first home start of the year was a disaster, with the third and final goal summing up Schneider's current form in a nutshell -- William Carrier floated a seemingly harmless shot his way, and the goalie somehow knocked it between his own legs with his trapper. The Devils ended up climbing out of the 3-0 hole, but the victory won't go on Schneider's ledger, and the veteran remains winless on the season at 0-5-1 with a brutal .852 save percentage.

Schneider will start between the pipes in Friday's home matchup with the Golden Knights, MSG Networks' Erika Wachter reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider has struggled in limited action this season, compiling an 0-5-1 record while posting an ugly 4.29 GAA and .862 save percentage in eight appearances. The American netminder will look to start righting the ship while picking up his first victory of the campaign in a tough home matchup with a hot Vegas club that's gone 8-2-0 in its last 10 contests.

Schneider allowed five goals on 38 shots in a 6-5 shootout loss to Anaheim on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider continues to come up empty in his quest for a win in 2018-19, his latest loss moving him to 0-5-1 on the season. He stopped just a single shooter in the shootout, resulting in his team suffering its sixth overtime/shootout loss of the year which ties them for most in the league. Following the game, the Devils announced that Keith Kinkaid would start Monday's game, so Schneider will need to wait for another opportunity to pick up win number one.
