Perry had an easy tap-in on the doorstep to open the scoring just 2:19 into the game. He later set up Radek Fakas's power-play tally in the final minutes of the second period. It was the first multi-point outing for Perry since Dec. 20 and it put an end to his seven-game goal drought. Even with Wednesday's effort, Perry has just 18 points in 48 games on the year.

The 34-year-old winger has 14 points, 48 shots on goal and 54 PIM in 39 games this season. He's averaging just 13:07 per game -- usage that doesn't warrant much fantasy consideration.

EDGE Analysis
Prior to his suspension, Perry managed just two assists in his previous 10 outings and remains bogged down in a 19-game goal drought. Considering the veteran is averaging a mere 13:09 of ice time, the lowest of his NHL career, it shouldn't come as a shock to see him struggling to produce. The Ontario native should remain locked into a bottom-six role for the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign, making him a mid-range fantasy option at best.

Perry has received a five-game suspension starting Friday for his elbowing of the Predators' Ryan Ellis on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Perry's elbow sent Ellis to the locker room for the remainder of the contest and resulted in his placement on injured reserve Friday. As a result, Perry will be out through Jan. 14 against the Avalanche and allowed to return to the ice Jan. 16 in a home matchup with the Sabres.

Perry has a disciplinary hearing scheduled for Friday after he elbowed the Predators' Ryan Ellis on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The incident occurred at 2:44 of the first period, and Ellis was unable to return to the game due to an upper-body injury. Perry received a major penalty for elbowing as well as a game misconduct, but it appears he could also be suspended for his actions. If he misses time, Justin Dowling will likely enter the lineup, and Tyler Seguin would probably shift from center to right wing.
