Perry buried a feed from Connor McDavid at 16:26 of the first period to get the Oilers on the board. This was the start of their comeback effort in the series-opening win. Perry has provided three goals, one assist, eight shots on net, 13 hits and a plus-5 rating over seven playoff outings. He's still seeing somewhat limited minutes, but he's getting most of his even-strength and power-play shifts alongside McDavid, so Perry is in a good position to be a regular contributor on offense.

Both of Perry's points came on the power play. He got the Oilers on the board at 4:11 of the second period and set up Leon Draisaitl's game-winner in overtime. Perry has four points, five shots on net, seven hits and a plus-5 rating over four playoff appearances despite primarily featuring in a bottom-six role. He was on the top power-play unit Sunday, and he'll have a bit more fantasy value if he sticks in that spot.

Perry found the back of the net with his lone shot of the game and also showed physicality, although that can be expected considering all the postseason experience the 39-year-old has. Perry isn't likely to be among the go-to scoring options for Edmonton, but he did post solid numbers in the regular season. His 30 points (19 goals, 11 assists) across 81 appearances were his best output since the 2021-22 campaign, when he finished with 40 points in 82 games.

He's been a valuable veteran for the Oilers to have during a late-season injury crisis, as he's stepped up into a larger role -- he led all Edmonton forwards with 17:37 of ice time Wednesday. The 39-year-old has played in an elevated role at times while the Oilers deal with a rash of injuries late in the season, but it hasn't led to much extra production for Perry. He's scored three times over eight games in March, and while he's trending up for now, he's mainly been limited to bottom-six usage for much of the season. The Oilers will continue to shuffle wingers at times when they need to spark the offense, as they did Sunday after scoring just six goals over the previous three contests. Perry has 15 goals, 23 points, 79 shots on net and 38 PIM across 66 appearances in 2024-25.
