Corey Crawford managed to stop only 16 of 20 shots as the Blackhawks dropped a 5-2 decision to Los Angeles Monday in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final. Crawford was beaten three times on only eight shots in the first period as the Kings easily kept the hometown crowd in the game with strong offensive effort. Crawford's record dropped to 9-7 with a 2.34 GAA and a .918 save percentage. He will have to be better on Wednesday as the Blackhawks trail three games to one with Game 5 back in Chicago.

Corey Crawford made 28 saves in Chicago's 4-3 loss in Game 3 against Los Angeles on Saturday night. The Blackhawks had a one-goal lead midway through the second period. Jeff Carter's marker was the first of three unanswered against Crawford. With a 2.23 goals-against average and .923 save percentage, Crawford has certainly enjoyed a fine postseason. However, he has given up nine goals over his last two games. The Blackhawks will need him to be better if they want to tie up the series on the road in Game 4 on Monday night.

Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville didn't want to put the blame on Corey Crawford for Chicago's 6-2 loss on Wednesday. Crawford stopped just 25 of 30 shots in the contest. "That was a team effort last night," Quenneville said on Thursday. "When we got behind 4-2, even 3-2, we were definitely taking more chances than we're accustomed to. We were pressing. Then came the high quality against us. One thing about Corey, he's been fine this entire playoffs (with) his consistency in how he moves to the next game, the next shot, next challenge. He should be commended on his approach, knowing we're going to LA and we're going to need him to be big." Crawford has a 2.11 GAA and .926 save percentage in 14 playoff contests.

Corey Crawford stopped the first 17 shots he faced in Game 2, but allowed five goals on the final 13 shots as the Blackhawks blew a two goal lead and fell 6-2 to L.A. on Wednesday night. It was a nightmare third period for the Blackhawks, who dropped their first game at the United Center in eight tries in the playoffs. Jeff Carter burned Crawford for a hat trick and four points in the final frame. Crawford had not allowed five goals in a game since Nov. 16th in Nashville prior to Wednesday night, and snapped an impressive three game stretch where he allowed just three goals versus Minnesota and Los Angeles.

Corey Crawford continues his run of recent strong play as he helped the Chicago Blackhawks take a 3-1 win in Game 1 against the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday. Crawford made 25 out of 26 saves in a tight first contest of this third-round series. The underrated goalie has only allowed one goal in each of his last three games, all wins for the Blackhawks. He's enjoying another strong postseason run in 2014.

Although he is not as big a name as any of the other goalies left in the Stanley Cup hunt, Corey Crawford may finally be getting his due. Carey Price, Henrik Lundqvist and Jonathan Quick may have received more accoldades in the past, but Crawford, who has already won a Stanely Cup, is finally getting the recognition he deserves. '"The bigger the game, the bigger the challenge, he seems to rise to that occasion," Hakes' coach Joel Quenneville said. "When you get good goaltending in the playoffs and you expect it, it really helps your team. The confidence that the goalie portrays seems to extend right through your team and right through your defense to your forwards." Chicago captain Jonathan Toews had this to say about Crawford: "It just seems like his job has gotten tougher over the last few years. Even [with] him being a huge part of our Stanley Cup-winning team last year, it doesn't seem like it's getting easier for him. But he keeps rising to challenges, picking his game up and improving in so many ways - especially mentally - to be able to handle that pressure." If the Hawks do win the C

Goalie Corey Crawford made 27 saves as Chicago bounced back from consecutive losses in Minnesota with a 2-1 win over the visiting Wild Sunday night. The Blackhawks now lead the best-of-seven series 3-2 and can advance to the Western Conference final with a win in Minnesota Tuesday night. Last night's victory gave the Hawks a 6-0 playoff record this season on their home ice. They are 17-2 at home in the playoffs the past two years. Last year, they won the Stanley Cup. Corey Crawford was quite disappointed in his own performance in Friday night's 4-2 loss to the Wild that evened the second-round series at two game apiece. Crawford felt he could have bailed his team out after a number of miscues led to goals. "You're never happy [with your performance] when you lose a hockey game," said Crawford, who stopped 27 of 31 shots on goal. "I didn't do enough to help this team win. I have to maybe try to do a little bit extra to give us a chance. We needed a big save on the penalty kill [trailing 3-2 in the third period] and unfortunately it didn't happen." We expect Crawford to bounce back from two pedestrian efforts in Minnesota when the series returns to Chicago Sunday for Game 5.

Corey Crawford let in four goals on 31 shots in Chicago's 4-2 loss to Minnesota Friday evening. Crawford was a disappoinment again against Minnesota, but he still has solid numbers in the playoffs with a 2.18 goals-against average and .924 save percentage. He should be the starting goalie on Sunday when Chicago and Minnesota will meet again.
