MacArthur (concussion) skated as an extra forward at Saturday's morning session, Dean Brown of TSN 1200 reports.
MacArthur resumed skating a few days ago, but had been limited to working out by himself rather than with the rest of the team. He still hasn't been cleared for contact and thus remains under the concussion protocol, but it seems increasingly likely that he'll be able to return before the regular season draws to a close.

MacArthur (concussion) skated by himself Sunday, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
MacArthur hasn't played since suffering a concussion Feb. 16, but has finally returned to the ice in some capacity. While he's likely still a ways off from returning to the lineup, he's at least making progress. The next step would be a return to practice and being cleared to play.

Coach Dave Cameron confirmed Friday that MacArthur's upper-body injury has been diagnosed as a concussion, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.MacArthur's concussion stems from a collision in Monday's loss to the Hurricanes with teammate Robin Lehner, who was also diagnosed with the head injury and placed on injured reserve. Concussions typically result in volatile recovery timetables depending on the severity of the injury as well as the player's own personal history, so it's tough to speculate on when MacArthur's activation might come. In the meantime, he'll remain under the league's concussion protocol, keeping him off the ice until further notice.

MacArhtur was removed from Monday's loss to the Hurricanes following a collision with teammate Robin Lehner, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.MacArthur appeared to take the brunt of the hit, as Lehner was able to exit the ice under his own power. Meanwhile, a stretcher was brought on the ice for MacArthur, but the forward ended up walking off the ice with assistance from his teammates. The nature of MacArthur's injury hasn't been revealed by the Senators, but his head appeared to collide with Lehner's shoulder, suggesting a concussion might be in play. The winger, who has 26 points in 53 games, had just returned to action Monday after missing Saturday's 7-2 win over the Oilers due to the flu.

Coach Dave Cameron said that MacArthur is dealing with the flu and will not play Saturday against the Oilers, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.MacArthur also missed a game in December due to illness, but he's otherwise been a picture of health for the Senators, suiting up in 52 games. His absence Saturday will deprive the team of a top-six forward, with Mike Hoffman more than likely sliding up to the Mika Zibanejad-Bobby Ryan line to cover for him.

MacArthur collected an assist and attempted two shots in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Stars.
It's been mostly crickets for MacArthur the last two weeks. The assist gave him his first point in five games, and he's only attempted seven shots during that time. With 25 points and a minus-9 rating for the season, MacArthur looks like no better than a medium-sized option in fantasy leagues.
