Although Charlie Coyle was demoted after going pointless in five games, he can take some positives out of his stint with the Minnesota Wild. "I was very pleased with how few [mistakes] he made," Wild coach Mike Yeo said. "[Coyle] created chances, [was] good defensively, brought what he needed to bring as far as the size and the wall play and the puck control and the net presence. The only thing [that] wasn't there was end results but that'll come." Coyle has 14 goals and 24 points in 44 AHL games.

Minnesota has returned Charlie Coyle to the AHL. The team doesn't play again until Sunday and there's a chance that he could come back up prior to that contest. Coyle had no points and six shots in five games with the Wild during his first taste of NHL action.

Charlie Coyle was promoted to Minnesota's top line during Wednesday's practice. He skated with Zach Parise and Mikko Koivu after he made his NHL debut Monday alongside Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Matt Cullen. During the session, Dany Heatley played with Bouchard and Cullen instead. Coach Mike Yeo said that the lines could be changed back for Thursday's game versus Vancouver, as nothing is set in stone yet but it wouldn't be surprising if the rookie forward stayed with Koivu and Parise. Heatley has been struggling lately and Coyle could bring something new to the table.

The Minnesota Wild have called up center Charlie Coyle from the Houston Aeros. Coyle is a highly-regarded prospect for the Wild and he saw success when paired with Mikael Granlund during the lockout so it's possible the two get reunited for Monday's game at the Coyotes. He offers some keeper league intrigue, but is likely not worth a look in redraft formats.

Charlie Coyle found the back of the net for Houston in a 5-1 win over San Antonio Tuesday night. Coyle has now scored in back-to-back games and seems to have found the scoring touch he possessed at the start of the season. Nick Palmieri chipped in with a goal and an assist while super-prospect Mikael Granlund picked up a helper in the win.

Charlie Coyle scored a goal for Houston in a 3-2 loss to Peoria Sunday. Coyle is one of the top prospects in the Minnesota system, but his pace has slowed considerably since a strong beginning to the season. Teammate Mikael Granlund was held off the scoresheet on Sunday, but remains number one with a bullet in terms of the Wild's future stars.

Charlie Coyle has made quite an impression on coach John Torchetti. Coyle has the ability to be an all-round player as he can score and play well defensively. "He's going to make an impact on the Wild for two reasons: He's no-maintenance, high-character and he is so good, so willing defensively," Torchetti said. Coyle now has 11 points in 16 AHL games on the top line although he has missed Mikael Granlund who has missed the last eight games with an ankle injury. He is worth taking in all keeper leagues but it may take a couple of seasons before he becomes a top scorer in the NHL.
