Coyle has moved from wing to center on the Wild's third line with Thomas Vanek and Jason Zucker, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
It sounds like Coyle's move to center could be permanent based on his success at the position last year, but head coach Mike Yeo frequently mixes his line combinations.

Coyle handed out a pair of assists in Thursday's 6-3 win over Buffalo.
He assisted on two goals of Nino Niederreiter's hat trick -- the even-strength one and the empty-netter -- to end a four-game scoreless skid during which he'd gone minus-6, rapidly erasing the plus-6 rating he'd compiled in the early going. Despite the production, Coyle went without a shot on goal for the second straight game.

Coyle was a minus-2 in Tuesday's loss to New Jersey and didn't have a shot on goal. He has just one point in his last six games. "I don't see a lot of confidence," head coach Mike Yeo said about Coyle to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Coyle doesn't look at risk of losing ice time in the short term, but that could change if his slump continues.

Coyle celebrated Wednesday's contract extension in Thursday's win over the Coyotes, scoring the game's first goal -- which turned out to be the winner -- early in the second period.
It's the second goal of the year for the talented young Coyle, who's going to be a fixture for years to come in Minnesota. He's got three points and a plus-4 rating over five games so far this season.

Coyle signed a five-year, $16 million extension with the Wild on Wednesday, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
The 22-year-old had just entered the final season of his entry-level deal, but he'll now be afforded some peace of mind with the five-year extension. A first-round pick (28th overall) in 2010, Coyle had a minus-7 rating but tallied 30 points (12G, 18A) in 70 games last season, and his speed and strong chemistry with teammate Mikko Koivu recently earned him a promotion to the second line.

Coyle was elevated to the second line at Tuesday's practice, Rachel Blount of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Coach Mike Yeo is hoping that the addition of Coyle will provide an infusion of speed to a second line that has struggled to produce under the stewardship of regulars Mikko Koivu and Thomas Vanek, who have combined to tally one point in four games. Coyle demonstrated strong chemistry with Koivu while the two played together last season, so there's a good chance the move will prove beneficial for all three players involved in the arrangement.

Coyle had a power-play assist in 13 minutes of ice time in Thursday's win over Colorado.
Coyle is on the third line with Nino Niederreiter and Erik Haula, but the Wild's third line may be more productive on offense than it's second line.

Charlie Coyle didn't think playing with two separated shoulders was a big deal.
"You forget about it once you're out there, but everyone's in the same situation," Coyle said Friday. "Everyone has one ache or another. ... You're always banged up. You just fight through it. ... Everyone was doing that. Every guy was doing that." He separated one shoulder in Game 4 against Colorado and the other in Game 3 against Chicago. Coyle had seven points in 13 playoff contests for the Wild and he'll rehab over the summer.

Both of Charlie Coyle's were reportedly separated for at least part of the playoffs.
Coyle still managed to score three goals and seven points in 13 postseason games. The 22-year-old forward is likely to set a new career-high in points in 2014-15 after getting 30 this season.
