Brian Campbell will play on the same All-Star team as former teammates Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa. The Chicago Blackhawks sent Campbell to the Florida Panthers over the summer. It turned out to be a great opportunity for Campbell, as he's been getting a ton of power-play ice time with the Panthers. Campbell has bounced back this season with 35 points in 48 games, including 20 points with the man advantage.

The fact that Brian Campbell has been recognized as an All-Star this season has some extra significance to him. Campbell and his massive contract were dumped on the Florida Panthers over the summer, who needed to add a lot of salary to reach the cap. However, while many people focused on his contract, even then it was clear that this was a golden opportunity for Campbell. He role in Chicago had been reduced, partially due to injuries and partially due to the rise of other talented offensive defensemen, but Florida provided him with an opportunity to be a power-play leader again. Campbell has done just that, which has led to him posting 33 points in 42 games. "The first [All-Star Game] was really special, but this one is probably the best for myself," said Campbell. "I feel I've been written off a bit by some people." They aren't writing him off anymore.

Brian Campbell became the second blueliner this season to reach the 30 assist mark on Friday. Erik Karlsson has 32 assists and the third place defensemen is Kimmo Timonen with 23. At this point, Campbell shouldn't have a problem reaching the 50-point mark in his first season with the Panthers.

Brian Campbell has already surpassed his point total from a year ago after 37 games. The veteran blueliner has 30 points, including 27 assists, after he produced a total of 27 points in 65 contests with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010-11. Campbell is third in the NHL in average ice time at 26:23 per contest and sixth in the league in power-play time per game at 4:34. He is in a four-way tie for first with 18 points with the man advantage going into Thursday night's action. Continue to get as much out of Campbell as you can while the going is good.

Brian Campbell scored the only Florida goal in a 2-1 loss to the Coyotes Tuesday night. Campbell is experiencing a fantastic offensive season and his total of 26 points is just one short of last season's figure, which it took him 31 more games to achieve. He is currently the second-highest scoring defenseman in the NHL, behind only the Senators' Erik Karlsson.

Brian Campbell has collected 11 assists in 12 games this season, but admitted that he'd like to score a goal. "I would like to have a goal, for sure," said the Florida defenseman. "But if I can help out, by finding the open guys and giving it to the right guys, that's the best thing I can do to help out." His 11 helpers leads the Panthers and he has contributed eight of them with the man advantage.

Brian Campbell registered an assist to give him eight in nine games this season. Campbell fell from grace in Chicago, partially due to injuries and partially due to the rise of Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook. However, he's the Panthers' best offensive defenseman and we think he's poised to have a bounce back season. Look for him to get about 45 points.

Brian Campbell was held off the scoresheet for just the second time this season in Florida's 3-0 loss to the Capitals Tuesday. Campbell is off to a torrid start to the campaign with seven points in five contests. Despite being blanked in this game, the move to Florida, where he is being given loads of ice time, seems to have worked out in his favor.
