Sutter (upper body) is trending toward returning for a five-game road trip that begins in Toronto on Saturday, per Canucks president Trevor Linden.
EDGE Analysis
It's not abundantly clear if Sutter will be with the team to for the whole trip, but at least we have now have a narrowed timetable for his return. The New York Native has been skating with the Canucks, but he'll likely need to turn in consecutive full-contact practices before getting the green light to return. Sutter should be anxious to improve upon a shooting percentage that's at a career-low 4.6 value through 23 games this season.

Sutter (upper body) has been skating on his own, Ben Kuzma of The Vancouver Province reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sutter's return to the ice is a step in the right direction, but he remains without a definite timetable for his return to game action. The 28-year-old pivot will need participate in several full practices with his teammates before being cleared to play, so the Canucks should release another update on his status once that occurs.

Sutter (upper body) is still on injured reserve and isn't in the projected lineup for Thursday's game against Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
Sutter still hasn't resumed skating, and the Canucks have yet to release any details regarding a potential timetable for his return to practice. The 28-year-old forward may be sent to the minors on a conditioning stint once he's deemed fit to play, as he hasn't tasted game action since he sustained his injury Nov. 24 against the Devils.

Sutter (undisclosed) is scheduled to resume skating with the team after the holiday break, according to Canucks coach Travis Green.
EDGE Analysis
It's too early to know whether Sutter will be fit to play in next Thursday's contest against the Blackhawks, but he's evidently making strides in his recovery. Alex Burmistrov and Nic Dowd have been holding down the fort in the bottom-six center spots with Sutter out of commission.

Sutter (undisclosed) is still 7-to-10 days away from returning to Vancouver's lineup.
EDGE Analysis
A report released earlier this week suggested Sutter may be available as soon as Friday against San Jose, but the 28-year-old pivot's recovery clearly isn't progressing as expected. The 2007 first-round pick remains on injured reserve, so his eventual activation from the injured list will be the clearest indicator of his game readiness.

Sutter (undisclosed) is slated to return within the next week, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports.
EDGE Analysis
While this report is encouraging for Sutter, it effectively rules him out of Monday's contest in Winnipeg. Sutter's next chance to play would then be Wednesday when the Canucks return home to Vancouver to play the Predators, though the team should give more updates when appropriate. With fellow centerman Bo Horvat set to miss an extended period of time due to a fractured foot, Sutter could move up in the lineup from his usual fourth-line slot when he returns.

Sutter (undisclosed) will miss at least one more week, according to Canucks coach Travis Green.
EDGE Analysis
Sutter's taken the second-most faceoffs (407) of any Canuck this season, plus he's winning 51.6 percent of those draws, but he's been a low-end fantasy option with only six points (two goals, four assists) through 23 games. His eventual removal from injured reserve will be the clear sign that Sutter is ready to come back.

Sutter (undisclosed) won't play Saturday against the Maple Leafs since Sportsnet 650's Brendan Batchelor reports the Canucks will go with the same lineup they used Thursday against the Predators.
EDGE Analysis
There was some hope that Sutter would be able to play once the Canucks finished out a road trip in Nashville, but the veteran pivot remains on injured reserve and evidently needs additional time to heal. It's been a rough season for No. 20, as he's only posted six points (two goals, four assists) through 23 games and is no longer featured on the power play.

Sutter (undisclosed) flew back to Vancouver after being hurt against the Devils on Friday, Jeff Paterson of TSN 1040 reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Canucks' next two games are on the road, which means that Sutter can be all but ruled for those contests. That would make the next chance for him to return Saturday against the Maple Leafs.

Sutter (undisclosed) will miss Sunday's contest against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran center evidently suffered the injury in Friday's 3-2 loss to New Jersey and unless there are additional developments, Sutter can be expected to miss the remainder of Vancouver's road trip, which concludes Thursday in Nashville. With Sutter sidelined, Alexander Burmistrov will step into the lineup and serve as the Canucks' bottom-line pivot for at least Sunday's tilt.
