Brandon Saad scored the only goal for Chicago Monday, but it's all they needed in a 1-0 victory over the Kings. Saad's goal was his 14th of the season and it stood up to be his second game-winner of the year. Bryan Bickell and Duncan Keith picked up helpers on the marker.

Brandon Saad switched from left wing to right wing on Tuesday night. Bryan Bickell returned to the lineup and lined up on the left side of center Andrew Shaw. The three of them formed Chicago's third line in a 3-1 win over Nashville. Saad has lined up in all three forward positions this season. "I played right wing when I was younger and switched to the left," Saad said. "I'm pretty familiar with both (wings) and center was a test. It's good to be versatile. It's something you have to work at." He saw 14:25 of ice time on Tuesday, but recorded two shots and an assist.

Brandon Saad notched a goal and an assist Monday night. He played with Patrick Kane and Brandon Pirri on the team's second line. Saad anc Kane appeared to have good chemistry in Chicago's 5-1 win over the Minnesota Wild. Saad fed Kane with a beautiful behind-the-back pass for a tap-in goal early in the third period. He has eight points in 12 games this campaign, while playing up and down the Hawks' lineup.

Chicago coach Joel Quenneville shuffled his lines significantly during the course of Friday's 3-2 win over the Islanders. Bradnon Saad was moved up to the top line with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, while Andrew Shaw centered the second unit featuring Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharp in place of Michal Handzus. Bryan Bickell, Joakim Nordstrom and Marcus Kruger made up the team's third line. Since the Hawks won, don't be surprised if Quenneville ices these units to start Saturday's game against the Sabres.

Brandon Saad feels comfortable in his third-line role with the Blackhawks. He skated with Andrew Shaw in the playoffs and played with Jimmy Hayes in AHL Rockford during the lockout last season. "We want to check off the first goal of playing well defensively, but we've got some skilled guys on our line, and we're looking to produce, as well," Saad said. "[We can] be that difference-maker out there. You always expect the top two lines to do it, but if we can chip in and help the team, that's what's going to make us successful." Saad began the season with a goal and two assists in Tuesday's win over Washington and coach Joel Quenneville likes his versatility.

Brandon Saad scored the game-tying goal and added two assists in the Blackhawks' 6-4 victory over Washington Tuesday night. The 20 year-old American played beyond his years last season with 27 points over 48 games as a rookie. Although Saad isn't in a premier scoring role, playing on the third line, the kid received both power play and penalty kill minutes to go with decent even strength ice time.
