As expected, Saad (upper body) won't play Friday against the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Saad was able to participate in Friday's morning skate, but is still dealing with a nagging upper-body injury that will cost him a third consecutive game Friday. The 23-year-old winger will hope to return to action Sunday against Tampa Bay.

Saad (upper body) was able to skate Friday morning, but remains day-to-day ahead of an evening contest against the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Saad hasn't been ruled out of Friday's contest, but it's usually not a promising sign when a player has the day-to-day label less than eight hours before a scheduled game. Fantasy owners would be wise to prepare alternatives in the likely event that the speedy winger misses out Friday.

Saad (upper body) was unable to practice Monday and is likely to miss his second straight game Tuesday against the Red Wings, The Columbus Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
There's no timetable yet for Saad's return to the lineup, but the Blue Jackets are not treating the injury as a serious one. His next opportunity to get back in the lineup would come Friday against the Penguins.

Saad (upper body) will not accompany the Jackets as they prepare for Saturday night's contest in Philly, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Saad sustained the injury upon receiving a hit facing the Oilers on Friday night, limiting his ice time to a tick over 10 minutes. It's an ominous sign that he was ruled out so early Saturday, but Saad undoubtedly will be reevaluated ahead of Tuesday's home game against the Red Wings. Cam Atkinson could see top-line minutes on the right wing with Saad ailing.

Saad injured his upper body in Friday's game against the Oilers and will not return.
EDGE Analysis
The Columbus Dispatch's Aaron Portzline indicates that Saad was hit awkwardly earlier in the game, which may be the cause despite him taking more shifts afterwards. He logged 10:04 of ice time prior to leaving, notching his 17th assist and adding three shots on goal in his shortened night. The 23-year-old winger has really picked things up of late (three points in four games), so it would be a bit of a setback should the issue cost him time. Expect the team to further update his status in the near future, especially with the team set to play again Saturday. If he's unable to go, the club would likely need to shift things around a bit, but the end result would likely be Rene Bourque drawing in for him.

Saad snapped a four-game slump with his 20th goal of the season Thursday in a 4-3 overtime win against the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
That makes two consecutive years of 20-plus goals for Saad, but the sniper's eyes should be on clearing the 30 mark before this season's out -- he could accomplish that if he can find a nice little hot streak. Breaking out Thursday after four consecutive scoreless outings following his first All-Star appearance is a good start on that front.

Saad scored twice in Monday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens. He also skated to a plus-2 and fired five shots on goal.
EDGE Analysis
The former Blackhawk now leads the Blue Jackets in scoring with 34 points, which is one ahead of Scott Hartnell. His plus-1 rating on the year isn't spectacular, but he's one of just three forwards on the team that has a plus rating -- and the other two have only played a combined 22 games this season. Furthermore, Saad paces Columbus in shots with 148, so it's probably safe to say that he's officially the most valuable fantasy commodity on the Jackets now that Ryan Johansen has moved on.

Saad connected on two goals Saturday night, driving the Blue Jackets toward a 5-4 shootout win over the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
On Saad's first goal, he virtually deked Caps goalie Braden Holtby out of his skates and ultimately raked the puck into the twine with a game-tying score in the third period. Saad now has 29 points in 39 games and has a plus-1 rating, which is impressive when you consider that the Blue Jackets are minus-24 as a team.

Saad scored in Tuesday's win over Dallas, putting his point streak at six games.
EDGE Analysis
In that six-game stretch, he has four goals, five assists and 25 shots. Saad has turned it on lately, looking like one of the few bright spots in the sinking ship in Columbus.

Saad recorded a goal and an assist in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Saad has been on top of his game as of late, grabbing seven points in his last five outings. The 23-year-old has 25 points on the season, second most on the woeful Blue Jackets. Saad will face another difficult test on Tuesday when the red hot Dallas Stars come to Columbus.
