Benoit Pouliot (lower body) did not practice on Wednesday, but he hasn't been ruled out for Thursday's game against Buffalo.
"He's day-to-day," coach Claude Julien said Wednesday. "We kept him off the ice today, again more as a precaution. We'll see how he is tomorrow and make a decision then based on whether he's feeling good, better, or whether he can go or not." Pouliot did not play in most of Tuesday's contest in Toronto because of a lower-body injury.

Benoit Pouliot saw limited action on Tuesday night against Toronto due to precautionary concerns stemming from a lower-body injury.
He concluded the contest with just 4:50 of ice time, but he did manage to pick up two assists over that span. "I don't even know how severe it is," coach Claude Julien said after the game. "We may see him in next game." The Bruins host Buffalo Thursday night and we'll list Pouliot as day-to-day for now.

The Boston Bruins have tried out Benoit Pouliot with Milan Lucic and David Krejci for the start of the past two games, but both times he didn't remain with them for the length of the match.
He was pulled from the second unit on Sunday, in favor of Chris Kelly, in the third period. The Bruins are without Nathan Horton (concussion) and Rich Peverley (knee), so they have to make adjustments. Unfortunately, Pouliot hasn't worked out as a top-six forward.

Benoit Pouliot played on the Bruins' second line on Friday.
With Rich Peverley (knee) expected to miss up to six weeks, Pouliot should have some short-term fantasy value. That being said, he certainly didn't look great on Friday. He had no points, one shot on goal, and a minus-two rating.

With Brad Marchand suspended for five games, Benoit Pouliot will be the left wing on the top line with Patrice Bergeron and Tyler Seguin.
This new line will be on display tonight against Winnipeg and, while it may miss Marchand's offensive punch, it will continue to keep opponents on edge with its speed and fore-check abilities. Pouliot is 7-7-14 and a plus-15 in 33 games. Zach Hamill gets to center the third line between Chris Kelly and Rich Peverley.

Benoit Pouliot may get a promotion to Boston's second line, alongside Patrice Bergeron and Tyler Seguin, if Brad Marchand is suspended following a hearing on Monday.
The 25-year-old winger has notched 14 points with the Bruins this campaign and has accounted for four assists in his past two matches. Zach Hamill, who was a healthy scratch against Vancouver Saturday, would likely draw back into the lineup as well on the third line in Pouliot's place.

Benoit Pouliot is enjoying a four-game point streak.
Pouliot has settled into the third line on a deep Bruins team. He's capable of chipping in offensively, as he proved recently, but the Bruins are also relying on him to protect the puck and offer a physical presence. He's more than capable of doing that with his 6-foot-3, roughly 200 pound frame. He has 43 hits in 29 games this season, despite getting just 11:01 minutes of playing time per contest.

Benoit Pouliot has seven goals and nine points in 28 games this season for the Boston Bruins, but he was showing signs of heating up heading into the Christmas break.
The big winger had three goals in his past three contests and four points in his last five games. Pouliot's fantasy value is still limited, but he could be worth look in deeper formats if he can carry on his success and shake off the lack of production he was mired in when the 2011-12 season began.
