Niemi was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and will get the start in net Tuesday against the Coyotes, Curtis Pashelka of the San Jose Mercury News reports. Niemi will start his third consecutive game between the pipes Tuesday against Arizona. The 31 year old veteran goaltender has struggled lately, recording only two wins in his last seven starts. Despite the slump, Niemi has still posted solid numbers this season, going 16-11-4 with a 2.61 GAA and a .911 save percentage. Niemi will look to bounce back in a favorable match up Tuesday, as the Coyotes rank in the bottom five in the NHL in goals scored per game.

Niemi was beaten for two goals on 31 shots in Saturday's loss to the Rangers. Niemi put forth a strong outing Saturday, but was outdueled by Henrik Lundqvist and the red-hot Rangers, who have now won 13 of their last 14 games. Niemi has managed just two wins in his last seven appearances, giving him a 16-11-4 record on the season. Hopefully Saturday is a sign of things to come for Niemi, as he had been struggling, giving up 13 goals in his previous three outings. With a lackluster .911 save percentage and 2.61 GAA, Niemi is still a strong fantasy option due to his heavy workload and 16 wins.

Niemi will be called upon to start Saturday's game against the Rangers, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports. The Rangers represent a formidable adversary for the Niemi, but the netminder is likely just happy to have St. Louis off the schedule for the rest of the season. The Blues whipped Niemi and backup Alex Stalock for seven goals in both of their meetings over the last week, dinging the ratios of both. Fortunately, Stalock's struggles in relief during those outings have allowed Niemi to maintain the top perch on the depth chart, which should remain the case for the foreseeable future. That being said, Niemi will need to start straightening things out, and a strong outing against the Stanley Cup runners-up would go a long way to restoring some confidence.

Niemi allowed five goals on 21 shots before being yanked from Thursday's 7-2 loss at the hands of the Blues. For what it's worth, Alex Stalock was arguably even worse in relief, giving up two goals on just seven shots. Niemi's drawn the Blues twice in his last three starts, and he's been pulled from both games, giving up a combined 11 goals. He'll surely be glad to check his schedule and see no more games against St. Louis for the rest of the regular season.

Niemi will be between the pipes Thursday against the Blues, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports. With backup Alex Stalock getting the call Tuesday against the Wild, Niemi returns to the net in search of his 17th win of the season. He'll probably enter the contest as the underdog, however, as the St. Louis attack has been absolutely destroying the competition of late, potting three or more goals in five of their last six games. One of those efforts included a 7-2 win over the Sharks last Saturday, which saw Niemi get chased from the game in the third period after surrendering his sixth goal.

Niemi faced just 19 shots, saving 17 of them, in Monday's 3-2 win against the Jets. Niemi wasn't tested heavily but he was able to walk away with a win to rebound from his six goal outing on Saturday. The 31-year-old is now 16-9-4 with a 2.51 GAA and .914 save percentage, and with the exclusion of Saturday's performance he's been one of the more reliable options of late with just two regulation losses since November.

Niemi will start Monday's game against the Jets, Scott Billeck of MyToba.ca reports. Niemi recorded a .929 save percentage in December but was roughed up in his first start of the New Year on Saturday, allowing six goals to the Blues before being pulled early in the third period. He'll look to rebound against a Winnipeg team hat ranks 22nd in goals per game (2.5).

Niemi was pulled Saturday against the Blues after giving up six goals on 27 shots. Now that's an odd way to build off a 28-save shutout. Just a few days after blanking the Ducks, Nemi got absolutely torched by the Blues Saturday, giving up five-even strength goals for the first time since Nov.17, 2013. The 31-year-old now owns a 15-9-4 record on the season, to go with a .914 save percentage and 2.53 GAA. While Niemi has lost three of his past four games, he still has only two regulation losses in his past 11 starts. Chalk this one up as a bad outing and move on.

Niemi will be in the crease for Saturday's game against the Blues, David Pollak of the San Jose Mercury News reports. After Niemi delivered a shutout of the divisional-rival Ducks on New Year's Eve, coach Todd McLellan will have no qualms about sticking with his top goalie for another pivotal matchup against St. Louis. Niemi was the victor in his only other start against the Blues this season back on Dec. 20, stopping 18 of 20 shots in an overtime win.

Niemi delivered a 28-save shutout win over the Ducks on New Year's Eve. It's his third shutout of the season and second in his last six games. Yes, he'd dropped two straight games prior to Wednesday's game, but he looked sharp against the quackers. He's now 8-1-1 in his last 10 and is as good a roll as any right now.
