The Rangers represent a formidable adversary for the Niemi, but the netminder is likely just happy to have St. Louis off the schedule for the rest of the season. The Blues whipped Niemi and backup Alex Stalock for seven goals in both of their meetings over the last week, dinging the ratios of both. Fortunately, Stalock's struggles in relief during those outings have allowed Niemi to maintain the top perch on the depth chart, which should remain the case for the foreseeable future. That being said, Niemi will need to start straightening things out, and a strong outing against the Stanley Cup runners-up would go a long way to restoring some confidence.
