Niemi moved to 3-0-0 with a 18 save performance in a dominant 9-2 win over the Rangers on Tuesday. The Sharks have looked like the NHL's best team in the early part of the season, as a result Niemi has not faced more than 24 shots in a game this season. He will face the Canucks for the second time this year (1 Goal on 22 shots - 4-1 WIN).

Goalie Start: Niemi vs. Lundqvist in San Jose. dailyfaceoff.com Tue 10/8/13 2:56 PM
The Sharks have looked great so far, leading to two easy wins for Niemi. He has posted a 1.00 GAA and .956 GAA so far and looks to go to 3-0 vs. the Rangers tonight. It is not the best matchup, but how can you sit Niemi right now?

Tonight's home matchup for the Flyers against the Panthers is the first under interim head coach Craig Berube, who will be looking for a more inspired effort from his 0-3 squad. Lucky for them, their opponent was just demolished 7-0 by St. Louis. Take Steve Mason and Philly.. The return of Cory Schneider to Vancouver should be a doozy, but wouldn't you think that Roberto Luongo would absolutely love to have this one? The Devils blew a huge late lead to Edmonton last night, while Vancouver is coming off a thrashing of that same Oiler team. Slight edge to Luongo... Phoenix has only won 5 of it's last 20 road games, while the Isle's look to give the home fans a treat after dropping their home opener to Columbus. Nabokov wins.. If the same pattern from last season follows, then Colorado's goalie Semyon Varlamov is likely to lay an egg on the road against Jonathan Bernier and the Leafs. However, the Patrick Roy factor changes everyhing. Too close to call.. Great win by New York last night in L.A., but Antti Niemi should be tough to beat for San Jose. Take the Finn over the Swede..
FANTASY MUST-STARTS
Steve Mason, Philadelphia v.s. Florida
Evgeni Nabokov, NYI v.s. Phoenix
SLEEPER ALERT
Semyon Varlamov, Colorado @ Toronto
Niklas Backstrom, Minnesota @ Nashville
DAILY GOALIE PICKS

Mike Roberto Luongo ( 3-3 )
Goalie Start: Niemi will start for the Sharks. dailyfaceoff.com Sat 10/5/13 2:56 PM
Niemi had an easy day at the office in his first start. The Sharks were all over the Canucks and held them to just 22 shots. Niemi allowed one goal in the 4-1 win. He is going to get a ton of starts for a good team this year, he could be a Vezina candidate at season's end.

It should be a real barnburner in Boston tonight between the Red Wings and the Bruins. Tuuka Rask is not yet confirmed, but he was stellar in his first start against Tampa Bay on Thursday allowing only one goal while having 32 saves. Howard is playing good as well, so sort of a pickem match. Anderson will face Reimer in Toronto tonight. Reimer is in a big fight with Bernier to win the starters spot for the Maple Leafs, so this should also be a nail biter. Ray Emery gets his first start for the Flyers tonight in Montreal. Have to go with Carey Price on this one. Bobrovsky will start again tonight for Columbus against the Islanders. He was mediocre in their home opener. Let's see if he can get back to his Vezina winning form tonight. Sort of like Nabokov in this match. The Sabres will start Enroth against the Penguins. Fleury looks like a good lock against the offensively challenged Buffalo team. As we expected Jonas Hiller will start against the Wild, while Niklas Backstrom will be in goal for Minnesota. Another pickem game. Braden Holtby will start again tonight despite being pulled, and allowing 3 goals on only 11 shots yesterday. Expect him to have a good game against the Stars. Tim Thomas had a good start coming back to the NHL with a win against the Stars, but the Blues will be tougher than Dallas. But he may suprise again tonight. Corey Crawford should be the pick of the night for Chicago against Tampa Bay. Luongo will likely beat Dubnyk, although we sort of like Dubnyk's chances, and we expect Niemi to win against the Coyotes.
FANTASY MUST STARTS:
Corey Crawford, Chicago Blackhawks vs. Tampa Bay
Marc-Andre Fleury, Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Buffalo Sabres
Braden Holtby, Washington vs. Dallas
SLEEPER ALERT:
Tim Thomas, Florida vs. St. Louis
Devan Dubnyk, Edmonton Oilers vs. Vancouver
