Markov collected two assists in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets. The blueliner found the score sheet for the second game in a row, this time for multiple points. He now has five goals and 22 assists to go along with a plus-8 rating through 42 games this season.

Markov missed several shifts after getting hit in the face by a P.K. Subban clearing pass in Tuesday night's win over the Panthers, the Montreal Gazette reports. Markov was tended to in the trainer's room before returning to the ice. He should be fine to play Friday against New Jersey.

Markov pushed his point streak to five games Tuesday, scoring a goal and going plus-2 in a 3-1 win over the Islanders. He's racked up two goals, four assists, four PIM and a plus-6 rating over the course of this fiery stretch of play, contributing both on the man advantage and at even strength. He may be 36 years old, but Markov remains one of fantasy's more reliable offensive defensemen.

With 15 points in 31 games, Markov is once again on pace for another 40-point season. He's one of the more reliable fantasy defensemen around.

Markov collected a goal and assist in Monday's win over the Avalanche. The goal was Markov's fifth power-play point and was one of three shot attempts for the defenseman on the night. It marked the third multi-point performance of the season for Markov.

Markov's first-period, power play goal held up as the game winner in Saturday night's 2-0 win over Boston. The goal was Markov's 100th of his career and joins legendary Canadiens Larry Robinson, Serge Savard and Guy LaPointe as defensemen in the 100-goal club.

Markov had two power play assists in Saturday night's 6-3 win over the Flyers. Montreal's power play has been awoken, having scored on four consecutive opportunities in the past two games. More than half of Markov's career points have come when Montreal has an extra skater on the ice, so it's no shock he's been involved in the unit's recent resurgence.

Markov played a team-high 29:26 in Thursday night's 3-2 overtime loss to the Canucks. He also led the Habs on Tuesday when he logged 30:14 in a shootout win over Calgary. Head coach Michel Therrien has been pretty good about keeping the 36-year-old Markov's minutes to a sustainable rate, so a small two-game spike shouldn't be much of a problem. Whether or the not the coach trusts the other blue-liners enough is a question going forward. Rookie Jarred Tinordi played just 9:06 and Mike Weaver only 14:08 on Thursday.

Markov orchestrated a comeback win against the Flyers on Saturday night with a goal and two assists in a 7:35 span of the third period. The Habs were down 3-0 when Markov lit the lamp at 7:05 of the third and he then set up two more to force overtime and a shootout. He'll turn 36 in December, but he's still a solid fantasy defender.

Andrei Markov has signed a three-year, $17.25 million contract with the Montreal Canadiens. That's identical to his previous contract. When he signed his last deal, there were some concerns given his, at the time, recent injury history. He's been healthy for the last two seasons, but his age is a concern now, given that he'll turn 36 in December. Still, he scored seven goals and 43 points in 81 games last season while averaging 25:14 minutes, so it seems likely that he would have commanded just as much on the open market.
