Markov scored two goals, including one on the power play, and added an power-play assist in a 3-1 win over the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
Interestingly enough, Markov's last three-point game was also against the Sens back on Nov. 22. He has eight points (two goals, six assists) in his last 10 games and sits at 35 points on the season. Ride Markov right now -- he can help you achieve your fantasy goal this season.

Markov scored his team's only goal in a 3-1 loss to the Jets on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 38-year-old only has four goals this season, but two of his scores have come within the past four contests. Despite not much scoring, Markov is a halfway decent fantasy option. He is averaging 0.625 points and 1.45 shots per game. Furthermore, he has a plus-6 rating and 10 of his 25 points have come on special teams. Markov doesn't excel in any fantasy area, but he also has no strong weaknesses.

Markov will head to Russia next week to bring his twin sons to Montreal following the tragic passing of their mother in December, the Montreal Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markov's ex-partner reportedly passed away from ovarian cancer shortly before Christmas. The veteran defenseman plans to travel to his home country once the Habs start their bye following this Sunday's road game against the Bruins.

Markov had one blocked shot and two hits over 21:27 of ice time in Sunday's 1-0 shootout loss to Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
The ice time was Markov's most since returning from an 18-game absence; it was also the back end of his first back-to-back set. The 37-year-old defenseman averages 21:34, so it looks like he's back to normal.

Markov returned to action Tuesday after missing 19 games due to a groin injury. He finished with an assist, a blocked shot and a plus-2 rating while getting 17:43 of ice time in Montreal's 5-3 win over Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
The ice time is four minutes fewer than his season average, but that's to be expected for a 38-year-old returning from injury. No matter the playing time, with 22 points in 32 games, Markov is an offensive threat from the blue line. That was evidenced by his offensive-zone spacing and deft set up of Paul Byron in the second period. The Russian defender was also part of the second power-play unit.

Markov (lower body) has been cleared to play in Tuesday's outing against the Sabres, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markov, who has been out of the lineup since Dec. 17, may have struggled for goals prior to getting injured -- zero markers in 15 straight contests -- but had managed to compiled 10 helpers, a plus-7 rating, and 21 shots over that stretch. Not exactly a scorer, the blueliner has managed to hit the 40-point mark in each of the last three seasons due primarily to racking up assists, and could certainly reach that threshold again this time around. The Canadiens have just 21 players on the active roster, so will not need to make any additional moves when taking Markov off IR.

Markov (lower body) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's contest against the Sabres, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markov has been sidelined since mid-December due to the lower-body issue, but appears nearly ready for a return to the lineup. Another update on the blueliner's status should arrive on gameday. Should he return, the veteran will provide a boost on both ends of the ice for the Canadiens as they begin the second half pacing the Atlantic Division.

Markov is considered week-to-week with his lower-body injury, Arpon Basu of LNH.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Habs reportedly pumped the brakes on Markov skating since he's not showing any more improvement. Unfortunately, the team is unsure when the playmaking defenseman will return to game ice; he's missed the past 15 games and remains on injured reserve.

Markov (lower body) remains out Wednesday against the Penguins, John Lu of TSN Montreal Bureau reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markov will miss a 15th consecutive game as he continues to battle lingering symptoms of a lower-body injury sustained in a game Dec. 17 against the Capitals. The Habs have missed his production as they've gone 7-5-2 since he went down following a 20-7-4 start to the season. The 38-year-old blueliner, who picked up 17 points (2G, 17A) in the last 20 games prior to hitting the shelf, remains without a definite timetable to return.

Markov (lower body) did not participate in the Canadiens' practice Sunday, Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markov has missed 13 games while dealing with a groin injury and is not expected to suit up for Monday afternoon's affair in Detroit.
