Once given the all-clear, Lowry could find himself in a position battle with Matt Hendricks (undisclosed), who is expected back soon.

Lowry is mainly valuable in deeper leagues, but his five power-play tallies and continued improvement makes him one to keep an eye on in the future.

Lowry scored both Winnipeg goals in a 5-2 loss to Colorado on Saturday. One of the goals came on the power play.

EDGE Analysis

The points snapped a 12-game point dought and a 21-game goal slump. Lowry's biggest fantasy category is hits -- he has 135 in 54 games. Great day, Adam, but it's not enough to whet our fantasy whistle.

Lowry's pointless streak extended to 10 games with Thursday's win over Chicago.

Lowry's drought is certainly not from a lack of opportunities as he is averaging 15:46 during this stretch, including some limited power-play minutes. Also of concern for owners is the center's limited ancillary stats -- 21 hits and 10 blocked shots. It would take a pretty significant change in performance for the 23-year-old to become fantasy relevant.

Lowry's pointless streak reached eight in a row against Edmonton on Sunday.

Despite his struggles to write his name on the scoresheet, Lowry continues to log significant ice time as he has averaged 15:50 during his scoring drought. Although he is not a prolific scorer, fantasy owners likely expected more out of the center -- just eight points in 32 contests -- considering he is part of the Jets' power play.

Lowry produced two man-advantage points Sunday, helping the Jets to a 3-2 overtime win over the Kings.

EDGE Analysis

Lowry is a steamroller on the ice at 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds. His strength is certainly an asset for Winnipeg, but the game-to-game offensive inconsistency can be a bit maddening in the fantasy realm. The 23-year-old has four goals and two assists in 14 games.
