QJoe Mixon
RB FA
Tue 2/24/26 12:25 PM

Texans general manager Nick Caserio said Tuesday at the NFL Scouting Combine that Mixon (foot/ankle) had surgery this offseason, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mixon missed the entire 2025 season due to a foot/ankle injury that Caserio said in January was a "freak thing" and "as unique a situation" as he has dealt with, and though he has one year left on his contract, his status with the team for 2026 remains uncertain. Caserio also said in January that the Texans' medical staff will need to evaluate Mixon before determining whether the veteran running back will be able to play next season. The news of Mixon undergoing a new offseason procedure seemingly adds a further wrinkle to that evaluation, though Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports that the team would like to have Mixon back. Across 14 regular-season appearances with Houston in 2024, Mixon rushed 245 times for 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns while adding a 36-309-1 line through the air.

Tua Tagovailoa
QB ATL (5)
Tue 2/24/26 11:21 AM1 Comment

New Miami general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan said Tuesday that "everything is on the table, including [the] possibility of a trade" regarding Tagovailoa's future with the team, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Sullivan noted that Tagovailoa hasn't officially requested a trade, though after the conclusion of the 2025 season the quarterback expressed a desire to play elsewhere. The 27-year-old signal-caller, who will turn 28 on March 2, inked a massive four-year, $212.4 million contract with the team in July of 2024 but appears to have definitively worn out his welcome with the Dolphins after a 2025 campaign in which he threw for just 2,660 yards, 20 touchdowns and 15 interceptions across 14 regular-season appearances. Sullivan stated in unequivocal terms Tuesday that the team will draft a quarterback this offseason, per C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald, as well as pursue options at the position in free agency such as Malik Willis, per Bill Huber of SI.com. If a trade partner willing to accommodate Tagovailoa's massive salary guarantees can't be found, the expectation is that he will be released.

Lamar Jackson
QB BAL (7)
Tue 2/24/26 11:08 AM

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said Tuesday that he's confident a new contract extension with Jackson will be finalized this offseason, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million contract extension with Baltimore in April of 2023, but with his cap hit set to jump to $74.5 million for 2026 and 2027, it's due time for both sides to agree to a new state of the union. Re-signing the franchise quarterback to a new long-term deal will start out the tenure of new head coach Jesse Minter on stable ground. After his career year in 2024, Jackson encountered multiple hurdles in 2025, most notably missing four regular-season games due to injury. He finished the year with a lackluster 2,549 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions after throwing for over 4,000 yards and a 41:4 TD:INT the year prior, while also having his rushing totals decline to just 349 yards and two scores on 67 carries. The Ravens' top priority this offseason will be to position Jackson to bounce back to MVP-worthy levels in 2026.

Kenneth Gainwell
RB TB (9)
Tue 2/24/26 11:01 AM

Pittsburgh general manager Omar Khan said Tuesday that the team has been in communication with Gainwell, an impending free agent, and hopes to re-sign him for the 2026 season, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gainwell earned internal team MVP honors after playing out the 2025 campaign on a one-year deal with the Steelers and totaling a career-best 537 rushing yards and five touchdowns (147 carries) while suiting up for all 17 regular-season games. He added a career-high 73 catches for 486 yards (85 targets) and another three scores through the air. Given the versatility and efficiency Gainwell demonstrated in 2025, it will be no surprise if Pittsburgh indeed prioritizes inking him to an extension before he hits unrestricted free agency. Jaylen Warren remains under contract through the 2027 campaign, though the Steelers have a potential 'out' in his contract this offseason.

Isaiah Likely
TE NYG (14)
Tue 2/24/26 10:38 AM

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said Tuesday that the team would like to re-sign Likely, who is an impending free agent, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Likely enjoyed a career year in 2024, totaling a 42-477-6 receiving line, but he began 2025 with a foot injury in training camp that required surgery and then missed three regular-season games, ultimately finishing the year with career-low marks across the board and a 27-307-1 line (36 targets). Issues compounding Likely's struggles included quarterback Lamar Jackson and Baltimore finished the year with an inconsistent offense and the fewest pass attempts in the league, culminating in Jesse Minter replacing John Harbaugh as the team's head coach. If Likely were to re-sign with the Ravens rather than explore the market as an unrestricted free agent, he would return to a situation that involves sharing opportunities with TE Mark Andrews, who remains under contract through 2027.

QZach Ertz
TE FA
Tue 2/24/26 9:59 AM

Ertz (knee) intends to play in the 2026 season and is expected to be cleared close to Week 1, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ertz suffered a torn ACL in a Week 14 loss to the Vikings on Dec. 7, making it conceivable that he could be healthy for Week 1 of the 2026 season, which will be roughly nine months after his injury. It seems just as plausible, however, that the 35-year-old veteran's rehab could require him to start the 2026 campaign on the PUP list. An impending free agent, Ertz will need to find a new opportunity in the league in addition to managing his return to full health. Across 13 regular-season appearances with the Commanders in 2025, he secured 50 of 72 targets for 504 yards and four scores. Washington general manager Adam Peters said Tuesday at the NFL Scouting Combine that the team will "keep the door open for sure" regarding re-signing Ertz, but noted that "you can't count on anything," per John Keim of ESPN.com.

A.J. Brown
WR PHI (9)
Tue 2/24/26 9:53 AM

Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni said Tuesday that his "expectation" is that Brown wants remain with the Eagles but that he "can't guarantee" the wide receiver will play for the team in 2026, Tim McManus of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
"[M]y expectation is [Brown] wants to be here," Sirianni said. "And obviously you want good players like that in your building," but he noted that "I can't guarantee how anything is going to play out into next season." Brown secured 78 of 121 targets for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns across 15 regular-season appearances in 2025, but at times he openly expressed frustration with the consistency of Philadelphia's offense. General manager Howie Roseman emphasized the fact that it is "really hard to find great players" when asked about Brown's status, but he also said the Eagles' policy is "listening to offers for everything and anything." In the event that Brown were to be traded, doing so prior to June 1 would result in Philadelphia incurring over $40 million in dead cap, compared to less than $20 million after that date.

Kirk Cousins
QB FA
Tue 2/24/26 9:45 AM2 Comments

Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham said Tuesday that the team has informed Cousins he will be released the first day of the new league year, March 11, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cousins restructure his contract with Atlanta early August to provide the team increased cap flexibility at the cost of incentivizing a release sooner rather than later, making it so that the Falcons will owe him $67.9 million guaranteed if he were on the roster at the start of the new league year. Cunningham's comments confirm the writing on the wall, being finding a trade partner prior to that date is highly unlikely and the 37-year-old quarterback will be released. Quarterback-needy teams around the league may see Cousins as a candidate for a starting gig in 2026, while Atlanta will need to prioritize finding another reliable option at the position while Michael Penix (knee) works his way back from a torn left ACL for which he underwent surgery Nov. 25.

OUTBradley Bozeman
LAC (12)
Mon 2/23/26 5:07 PM

Bozeman announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bozeman was a sixth-round pick of the Ravens in 2018 and spent the first four seasons of his career with Baltimore before two seasons in Carolina followed by his final two seasons with the Chargers. Bozeman started all 16 regular-season games in which he appeared last season prior to missing the Week 18 finale with a concussion. He was back for the wild-card playoff loss to New England. In total, Bozeman started 110 of the 129 regular-season games he appeared in across eight campaigns. Bozeman also played in six playoff contests.

Andrew Wylie
WAS (12)
Mon 2/23/26 4:25 PM

The Commanders re-signed Wylie to a two-year, $7.5 million contract Monday, Ben Standig of Big 100 Washington D.C. reports.
EDGE Analysis
The deal can be worth up to $10.5 million. Wylie was scheduled to become a free agent next month but is staying with Washington. Wylie will turn 32 years old in August and has spent the past three seasons with the Commanders after five years with the Chiefs. He started just five of 16 regular-season games in which he appeared last season but is a reliable, experienced offensive offensive lineman with 93 career regular-season starts under his belt.
