Smith (groin) is expected to sign with the Broncos in the first week of October, Mike Klis of Denver 9News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith has received interest from numerous teams since being released by the Saints on Tuesday, but he's expected to reunite with former New Orleans coach Sean Payton in Denver. The 27-year-old wide receiver had been on injured reserve with a groin injury prior to being released, so Smith will have to regain health before he's able to contribute for the Broncos.

The Saints released Smith (groin) from injured reserve Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Because New Orleans placed him on IR just before the season opener, Smith had logged three of the four required absences before the team could activate him. Now, though, he'll be available to interested parties as long as he can prove the health of his groin.

Smith (groin) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith hasn't practiced since Aug. 5 due to a groin injury, so this designation is hardly surprising. Chris Olave, Michael Thomas and Rashid Shaheed project to be the team's three leading receivers for the foreseeable future.

Smith (groin) will not play Sunday against Tennessee, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Chris Olave, Michael Thomas and Rasheed Shaheed all healthy, Smith would only be the fourth or fifth wide receiver if he played. He hasn't practiced since the first week of August and underwent a procedure at some point thereafter.

Smith (groin) is expected to miss Week 1 versus the Titans due to a surgical procedure he underwent in August, Jeff Duncan of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith missed most of training camp and all of the preseason due to a groin injury sustained in early August, and while it sounds like his recovery timetable could allow him back on the field sooner rather than later, Week 1 may be a long shot. If New Orleans opts to place the sixth-year wideout on IR, he will need to miss at least four games. Keith Kirkwood and A.T. Perry will be in better position to handle depth snaps if Smith misses time, especially with No. 3 wideout Rashid Shaheed (groin) still not healthy.

Smith (groin) was held out of practice Tuesday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith hurt his groin during practice Aug. 5 and hasn't returned since. He didn't log any action during the preseason slate but still received a spot on the 53-man roster. The extent of Smith's injury isn't yet clear, and it remains to be seen if he'll be ready by the start of the regular season.

Smith (groin) won't play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Chiefs, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith suffered the injury last weekend, and while the issue is expected to be minor, it's not surprising to see the wideout sidelined as a precaution. His next chance to suit up for game action will arrive Sunday, Aug. 20 versus the Chargers.

Smith suffered a groin injury and was forced out of Saturday's practice early, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Dennis Allen seemed to suggest the issue was minor, although he declined to give a relative timeframe of return. The sixth-year wideout is one of the elder statesmen of the group alongside oft-injured Michael Thomas, but provided the two remain healthy, the duo could be part of one of the better Saints receiving corps in recent memory, with second-year standouts Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed (groin) in tow, along with the athletically gifted sixth-round rookie A.T. Perry waiting in the wings. Early reports during training camp suggest the Saints offense is operating on all cylinders with new starter Derek Carr.

Smith hauled in his only target for six yards during Sunday's 10-7 loss to the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Smith logged his first target since the Week 12 loss to San Francisco. This also marked just his second catch over the final eight games of the season, as the fifth-year wideout's role sharply declined after the emergence of undrafted rookie Rasheed Shaheed during the second half of the season. Therefore, Smith finished with his worst season-long stat line since the 2019 campaign, recording 19 receptions (on 27 targets) for 278 yards and one touchdown over 15 games in 2022. The 2018 third-round pick also failed to record at least three touchdowns for the first time despite operating in an extremely undermanned receiving corps for most of the season. Smith is entering the second and final year of his contract with New Orleans, and with ascending rookies in Smith and leading receiver Chris Olave on the roster, the 27-year-old figures to see another extremely limited role heading into the 2023 campaign.

Smith logged zero targets during Sunday's 20-10 loss against the Steelers.
EDGE Analysis
Smith did not record a target for the first time this season during this poor showing for the Saints' offense. The 26-year-old also logged a season-low seven offensive snaps while playing behind Kevin White (31), Chris Olave (36) and Jarvis Landry (37), who returned from his five-week absence due to an ankle injury. As a result, Smith didn't get a chance to benefit from the absence of Marquez Callaway (coach's decision), and he could be relegated to a deep reserve role against the Rams next Sunday.
