Adam Schefter revealed on the ESPN Football Today podcast that Eagles WR Steve Smith and DE Juqua Parker as well as Colts DE Jerry Hughes were shopped at the trade deadline. Smith will collect $2 million guaranteed as the Eagles' fourth receiver this season. Jason Avant is signed through 2014, so Smith will almost certainly be playing elsewhere in 2012. Parker landed in the doghouse after an egregious offsides penalty against the Bills. Hughes has a been bust since being drafted at the end of the first round last year.

Steve Smith has played a total of just 10 snaps in the Eagles' past two games. He's been targeted only once since Week 3. Well behind Jason Avant in the slot, Smith is off the fantasy radar in all formats.

Steve Smith caught two passes for 27 yards on five targets in Sunday's loss to the Giants. Smith has seen his targets go from zero to three to five in the span of three weeks, and is slowly carving out a role in the Eagles' receiver corps. However, he remains behind Jason Avant in the slot, and still isn't worth a flier outside of exceptionally deep leagues.

Steve Smith played 18 snaps in Sunday night's loss to the Falcons. Smith's playing time is rising as he's working his way into game shape. However, he'll have to pass Jason Avant for the full-time slot job to be worth anything at all in fantasy. That's unlikely to happen anytime soon as the Eagles have an extremely high trust level in Avant.

Steve Smith caught two passes for 29 yards in Philadelphia's Week 2 loss to the Falcons. Smith was on the field for considerably more snaps than he was in a zero-target Week 1 performance, but was still clearly fourth on the Eagles' depth chart at receiver. His role should continue to grow, but he's probably weeks away from getting you any points, particularly in non-PPR formats.

Coordinator Marty Mornhinweg indicated that Steve Smith (knee) is "in the middle" of becoming a bigger part of the offense. Smith is a fine player when fully healthy, but we'll believe this bigger role when we see it. He's not as talented as Jeremy Maclin, and Michael Vick has complete trust in Jason Avant as the third-down receiver. The Eagles will have to go four-wide on a regular basis for Smith to accrue fantasy value.

Steve Smith wasn't targeted in Sunday's win over the Rams. Smith was active as he completed his remarkable comeback from microfracture surgery, but was on the field for only a handful of snaps. He's off the radar in fantasy leagues until further notice.

Steve Smith (knee) is expecting to be active on Sunday against the Rams. Smith says he has a "a package of plays" in the Eagles' four-wide set. HC Andy Reid has only said "there's a chance" Smith will suit up on Sunday. Currently behind DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Jason Avant on the depth chart, Smith isn't yet worth a look in standard-sized leagues.

The Eagles have listed WR Steve Smith (knee) as probable for Week 1. Smith is likely to be available for the game, but the Eagles may not decide whether to activate him until Sunday morning. Smith is currently the Birds' fifth receiver, and it's hard to imagine them using him on special teams.

Geoff Mosher of the Wilmington News Journal predicts that Steve Smith (knee) will not play in the season opener "unless there's an injury at receiver." Eagles coaches say Smith has shown enough to be able to play Sunday, but a decision won't be made until later in the week. Neither Smith nor OC Marty Monhinweg would answer in the affirmative when asked if Smith's knee was 100 percent recovered from microfracture surgery.
