Jones rushed four times for 10 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 37-26 loss to the Panthers on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

If not for a five-yard touchdown in the second quarter, Jones' day would have been an absolute dud. As it was, he saw a very limited role with game script quickly turning against the ground attack. Peyton Barber also doubled up Jones in carries, keeping their timeshare as perplexing as usual. Jones will look to bounce back with more opportunities in a Week 8 matchup against the Titans following a Week 7 bye.

Jones rushed nine times for 35 yards and secured two of three targets for 21 yards in the Buccaneers' 31-24 loss to the Saints on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

Jones did outpace backfield mate Peyton Barber once again, but by only one carry in this instance after logging 10 more totes than his teammate Week 4. Game flow hardly worked in favor of the running game in the second half anyhow, so it's difficult to fault Jones' modest production and draw too many conclusions from Sunday's results. Jones will look for a more bountiful workload versus the Panthers during a Week 6 divisional tilt in London.

Jones rushed 19 times for 70 yards and a touchdown and brought in his only target for 12 yards in the Buccaneers' 55-40 win over the Rams on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

Jones outpaced backfield mate Peyton Barber in carries for the second straight week, and on this occasion, the gap in workload between the two backs was the widest it's been yet in Jones' favor. The second-year back's carry total was a career high, and his five-yard rush just before halftime was his first score of the season. The more dynamic Jones appears to be progressively pulling away with the lead-back job, although it will take multiple weeks with the USC product helming the ground attack for fantasy managers to have complete confidence in that arrangement. Jones will look to continue his ascent in a Week 5 divisional showdown against the Saints.

Jones carried 14 times for 80 yards and caught his only target for a 41-yard gain during Sunday's 32-31 loss to the Giants.

EDGE Analysis

Jones received one carry more than Peyton Barber but outgained the latter significantly. He also made the most of his only target, scampering 41 yards to set up a touchdown in the first quarter. Jones has shown the capability to produce at times this season and is now averaging an impressive 5.3 yards per carry for the season. He'll need to sustain this type of production to pull ahead of Barber on the depth chart, with his next opportunity coming Sunday on the road against the Rams.

Jones rushed four times for nine yards in the Buccaneers' 20-14 win over the Panthers on Thursday.

EDGE Analysis

Just four days ago, Jones looked like the back on the rise in coach Bruce Arians' offense after averaging just under six yards per carry and amassing 93 yards on 14 total touches. However, Arians made good on his commitment to stick with the hot hand Thursday irrespective of Week 1 results, which led to Jones checking in a distant second to Peyton Barber and his 23 carries. The arrangement obviously worked out well for the Buccaneers on Thursday, but this could be shaping up as a situation that will keep fantasy managers guessing from week to week for the time being. Jones will look to reclaim a bigger percentage of touches in a Week 3 battle against the Giants a week from this Sunday.

Coach Bruce Arians said Jones would stick in a backup role Thursday against the Panthers with Peyton Barber retaining the staring gig at running back, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Barber's starting assignment doesn't necessarily kill Jones' weekly or season-long fantasy upside, as Arians noted that he would ride the hot hand between the two backs as Thursday's game rolls along. Jones was the better producer of the two in the Week 1 loss to the 49ers, taking 13 carries for 75 yards while Barber grinded out 33 yards on eight totes. Both backs will still have to contend with Dare Ogunbowale handling the majority of the work on passing downs, but another standout showing from Jones on the ground might be enough for him to push past Barber on the depth chart heading into Week 3.

Jones rushed 13 times for 75 yards and brought in his only target for 18 yards in the Buccaneers' 31-17 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

Jones particularly seemed to hit his stride late in the third quarter, when he garnered 29 of his yards on four consecutive rushes. The second-year back looked like a completely different player overall when compared to his forgettable rookie season, a trend he'd already started with a solid training camp and preseason. Also highly telling was that Jones out-touched starter Peyton Barber by a 13-8 margin in the running game, and that it was he and not Barber who received all fourth-quarter carries that didn't go to third back Dare Ogunbowale. Given Jones' usage Sunday, it will be interesting to see if there are any hints of what coach Bruce Arians is thinking with respect to his backfield workload ahead of a Week 2 Thursday night tilt versus the Panthers.

Jones is on track for a role Week 1 against the 49ers, but Peyton Barber is more likely to get the start, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

EDGE Analysis

Jones hasn't done much to build his case this preseason, averaging 3.3 yards on 10 carries while continuing to struggle in pass protection. A minor knee injury didn't help, with the second-year pro bothered by swelling and soreness last week. Coach Bruce Arians may take the hot-hand approach between Barber and Jones, with the potential for a third player -- Dare Ogunbowale or Andre Ellington -- to also get involved. The Bucs notably used Ogunbowale for their two-minute drill with the first-team offense in the third week of the preseason.

Jones (knee) carried four times for eight yards and failed to bring in his only target during Friday's 13-12 preseason win over the Browns.

EDGE Analysis

Jones dealt with some soreness and swelling in his knee throughout the week, but he shrugged off the issue for this dress rehearsal of sorts. Although he wasn't overly effective, Jones notably mixed in with Peyton Barber throughout the team's opening three drives and outproduced his teammate. It appears the two backs will continue to share the workload during the regular season, with neither player likely to feature much, if any, during Thursday's exhibition finale against Dallas.

Jones is taking part in pregame warmups for Friday's preseason matchup with the Browns, ESPN's Jenna Laine reports.

EDGE Analysis

Jones hyperextended his knee in the team's previous preseason contest, but he appears healthy enough to give it a go in this one. Considering he's battling Peyton Barber for the starting running back job, Jones' reps in this one could have a major impact on his role come the regular season.
