Jones (illness) was a full participant at practice Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Jones will be ready to go for the Chiefs' Week 4 matchup against his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That being said, he has yet to play a snap this season and remains firmly buried on Kansas City's depth chart.

Jones (illness) participated in Friday's practice, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The extent of Jones' participation remains unclear, but it's encouraging to see him back after he was sidelined Thursday due to an illness. Regardless, Jones finds himself firmly behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon and has yet to be active for a game through the first three weeks of the season.

Jones (illness) did not practice Thursday, Herbie Teope reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones missed his second practice in a row. Considering he is dealing with an illness, and not an injury, his inactivity may have less of an impact on his status for Sunday. More importantly, Jones is firmly behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon on the running back depth chart, and he hasn't been active for any of the first three regular-season games.

Jones (illness) will not practice Wednesday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones has been a healthy scratch behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon through three weeks, and missing practice time certainly doesn't help matters for him. There's no good reason to believe he'll play at Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Jones (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
Jones has been a healthy scratch for all three of the Chiefs' games this season. The backfield will remain the trio of Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon and Isiah Pacheco.

Jones (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Chargers, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Like he was Week 1, Jones is the odd man out in the Chiefs backfield for a second consecutive contest. The team instead will roll with Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon and Isiah Pacheco at running back Thursday.

Jones (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
With Jones the odd man out Sunday, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon and Isiah Pacheco are in line to handle Kansas City's Week 1 backfield duties.

Jones has a spot on Kansas City's initial 53-man roster, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team will likely start off with four running backs, also rostering Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon and Isiah Pacheco. They could still cut that down to three before Week 1, but it appears Jones has a spot for the time being, even if it's possibly at the bottom of the depth chart. The former Buccaneer reportedly was on the bubble but won Kansas City's coaching staff over with a strong showing in the final preseason game.

Jones carried the ball eight times for 43 yards and caught his only target for four yards in Thursday's preseason game against the Packers.
EDGE Analysis
Kansas City starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire got the team's first carry of the night on a play that was wiped out by a holding penalty, but he immediately checked out of the game and Jones handled most of the backfield work until the first possession of the second half. While the former Buccaneer posted strong numbers, rookie Isiah Pacheco led the club in rushing with 52 yards, and Jerick McKinnon also saw limited action on passing downs. Kansas City could elect to keep all four backs on the 53-man roster, but Jones' extensive action Thursday could also have been an attempt by the club to showcase him for a trade. It's not yet clear how snaps and touches will be split behind Edwards-Helaire, so if Jones remains in K.C. he'll be a total wild card from a fantasy perspective.

Jones may have "late life" in Kansas City, as he had a good practice Tuesday after teammate Derrick Gore (thumb) was placed on injured reserve, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Those who drafted Jones earlier this summer were hoping he'd challenge Clyde Edwards-Helaire for the starting job, or at least take away a large portion of the carries. Instead, the former Buc seems to be battling for a back-end roster spot, as he's worked behind Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon (in addition to CEH) throughout the preseason. Even if he's behind those guys, Jones could make the roster as the fourth running back, though for fantasy purposes a fresh start with another team might actually be better.
