Tonyan caught his lone target for eight yards in Sunday's 30-28 win over the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan crashed back down to earth after busting out 52 yards and a touchdown last week against the Lions. Aaron Rodgers relied almost primarily on star wideout, Davante Adams, and the duo led Green Bay to victory. Tonyan's fantasy value last season stemmed from his ability to find the end zone (11 touchdowns), but with just one score and 66 total yards through three contests, fantasy managers may start looking for other answers at the tight end position.

Tonyan caught all three of his targets for 52 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 35-17 win over the Lions.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan started his performance with a 19-yard gain from a screen pass. He later gave the Packers the lead as the beneficiary of a 22-yard laser from Aaron Rodgers, scoring a touchdown down the seam. With a couple forced coverage penalties and another screen-pass gain afterward, Tonyan turned in a display reminiscent of his breakout 2020 campaign, giving him good momentum ahead of Week 3's trip to San Francisco.

Tonyan was targeted four times and caught two passes for eight yards in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Saints.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan was the clear-cut top tight end for the Packers in Week 1, but he saw only a few passes thrown his direction, and with his team pulling the bulk of its starters early, he was on the field for only 49 percent of offensive plays. He did a lot of damage in the red zone last season, but the Packers rarely crossed midfield Sunday, which further limited his opportunities. Some fantasy players may cut ties with Tonyan after his Week 1 dud, but don't forget he scored 11 touchdowns over 15 games after being shut out in last season's opener.

Tonyan drew rave reviews from Packers tight ends coach Justin Outten on Sunday, with the coach stating his belief that Tonyan "has not reached his ceiling yet."
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan did not see action in the Packers' preseason opener, but that was not due to any sort of injury and rather the fact he has established himself as the top tight end in Green Bay. After a breakout 2020 campaign, Tonyan continued making strides over the offseason, with Outten noting, "What (Tonyan) does outside the building has really jumped off. You can progress (in camp), but you have to be able to do it outside this building, and he's really taken care of his body, the mental aspect of it, the gymnastics of the playbook and being utilized a little bit more." It will be tough for Tonyan to match the 11 touchdowns he scored last year, but regardless he'll remain a key piece of the Packers offense in 2021.

Tonyan signed his second-round tender with the Packers on Thursday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan has been an attendant of OTAs, so it makes sense to see him sign his contract tender. If the 27-year-old can repeat last season's production, when he had 52 catches for 586 yards and 11 touchdowns, he'll position himself for a sizeable payday come 2022. Of course, a 21.1 touchdown rate may not be sustainable, but Tonyan does stand to once again serve as one of Green Bay's main weapons in the red zone alongside Davante Adams and Aaron Jones.

The Packers extended a second-round tender to Tonyan on Tuesday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan was a pleasant surprise for the Packers last season, hauling in 52 of 59 targets for 586 yards and 11 touchdowns. That was good for 9.9 YPT and a 21.1 percent touchdown rate, which may be unsustainable but highlights his importance to Green Bay's passing attack. Other teams still can give Tonyan an offer sheet, but it'll cost them a second-round pick if the Packers ultimately decide not to match it.

Tonyan recorded four receptions on four targets for 22 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-26 loss to the Buccaners in the NFC Championship Game.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan continued to fill the role of red-zone threat, scoring from eight yards away midway through the third quarter. Between both 16 regular-season contests and two playoff games, Tonyan managed 12 touchdowns and emerged as a trusted option for Aaron Rodgers. Tonyan will enter the offseason as a restricted free agent, though it's likely that the Packers will tender him a contract after his breakout performance throughout the 2020 campaign.

Tonyan recorded four receptions on four targets for 60 yards in the Packers' divisional-round win over the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan picked up over half of his yards on a play just before halftime, when Aaron Rodgers evaded pressure and found him well down the field for a 33-yard game. Otherwise, Tonyan's longest reception went for 12 yards, and he was overshadowed by other peripheral options like Alan Lazard. Even so, Tonyan reached 60 receiving yards for only fourth time in 17 games -- including the regular season.

Tonyan caught both his targets for 18 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's victory over the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan was held under the 20-yard mark for the third game in a row, but he did reach the end zone for the sixth time in the last seven games, and the 11th time overall this season. Tonyan finished the regular season 13th among tight ends in both receptions and receiving yards, but he tied Travis Kelce for the most scores among players at his position, which made him one of the more productive tight ends in any fantasy format.

Tonyan recorded three receptions on three targets for 18 yards and a touchdown in Week 15 against the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan found the end zone for the fifth consecutive week, logging a one-yard touchdown reception to cap the Packers' first possession. One play earlier, he had hauled in a pass for seven yards to bring the team to the goal line. Thereafter, Tonyan was held silent on the stat sheet until the fourth quarter when he tacked on a 10-yard reception. Though he has surpassed 50 receiving yards only once in his last seven games, Tonyan has been a key contributor near the end zone. That should keep him in consideration among tight ends in Week 16 against Tennessee.
