Tonyan was targeted twice and caught two passes for 22 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-24 overtime victory over the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
After increasing the previous two weeks, Tonyan's snap count percentage declined in Week 4, but he made the most of his opportunities and found the end zone for the first time in nearly a year. He remains the top pass catcher among Packers tight ends, and with Sunday's showing following a game in which he garnered seven targets, he is giving fantasy players more reason to look his way.

Tonyan was targeted seven times and caught six passes for 37 yards in Sunday's victory over the Buccaneers.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan did not do much in the yardage department, but the target and reception totals were particularly encouraging, as was the fact he played 14 more snaps than any other Packers tight end. Tonyan shared the load with the three other tight ends on Green Bay's roster over the first two weeks, but he appears to be emerging the primary option at his position.

Tonyan was targeted twice and caught two passes for 11 yards in Sunday's victory over the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan made a rapid recovery from a torn ACL and took the field in Week 1, but the Packers aren't giving him a big workload right away. Although his snap count percentage increased slightly, he was out there for fewer than 40 percent of the plays for the second week in a row. Tonyan played at least 60 percent of the snaps in both 2020 and 2021, so it's evident there is room for growth in that department.

Tonyan was targeted five times and caught three passes for 36 yards in Sunday's loss to the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan took the field for the first time since Week 8 of the 2021 season, and although he didn't make a major impact, he also didn't appear limited by his surgically repaired left knee. He played just 22 snaps, which was one fewer than fellow tight end Marcedes Lewis and seven more than both Josiah Deguara and Tyler Davis. With a game under his belt and the Packers in need of playmakers, though, Tonyan -- who scored 11 touchdowns in 2020 -- could find himself on the field more frequently in the weeks ahead.

Tonyan (knee) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game in Minnesota, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan suffered a torn ACL in his left knee Week 8 last season, missing the rest of what had been a disappointing campaign to that point (18-204-2 on 29 targets). He has a 52-586-11 receiving line on his resume from 2020, and with Davante Adams out of town and Allen Lazard (ankle) doubtful for Week 1, Tonyan is set up to be among Aaron Rodgers' favored pass catchers to begin this year.

Tonyan (knee) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A little more than 10 months removed from tearing the ACL in his left knee Week 8 of last season, Tonyan seemingly has a chance to suit up for the Packers' Week 1 visit to the Vikings after notching back-to-back capped sessions. Friday's injury report may provide clarity for his availability heading into the weekend. If Green Bay ends up exercising caution with Tonyan for the season opener and holds him out, though, Josiah Deguara, Marcedes Lewis and Tyler Davis would be in line for the reps at tight end.

Tonyan (knee) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, Jason Wilde of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan has progressed steadily from the torn ACL in his left knee that he suffered Week 8 of last season, getting removed from the PUP list Aug. 14 and eventually mixing into team drills Aug. 28. Head coach Matt LaFleur has said that he's unsure whether Tonyan will be healthy enough to suit up Week 1 at Minnesota, and the tight end's activity level Wednesday would seem to back that up. Fortunately for Tonyan, he has two more chances to log a full session before week's end, at which point the Packers could make a ruling on his availability for the opener.

Coach Matt LaFleur said Monday "it's a little too early" to say whether Tonyan (knee) will suit up for the regular season-opener against Minnesota, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan resumed taking part in team drills Sunday, and the Packers activated him from the active/PUP list on Aug. 14, so it's clear he's making progress in his recovery from a torn left ACL. With the season opener just under two weeks away, Tonyan still has a bit of time to showcase his health before the team will need to make a decision on his Week 1 status.

Coach Matt LaFleur said Tonyan (knee) will take part in team drills at Sunday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tonyan suffered a torn ACL in his left knee Week 8 last season, but he progressed enough that the Packers activated him from the active/PUP list on Aug. 14. Two weeks later, he's now poised to mix into team drills, which is a positive sign with the season opener still two weeks away. It remains to be seen whether or not Tonyan will make himself available for a Week 1 road matchup with the Vikings on Sunday, Sept. 11.

Tonyan (knee) isn't expected to play in Thursday's preseason contest in Kansas City, Mike Spofford and Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site report.
EDGE Analysis
Green Bay activated Tonyan from the active/PUP list on Aug. 14, but he remains in the midst of his recovery from the torn ACL in his left knee that he sustained Week 8 last season. As such, he has yet to participate in team drills in practice, meaning his status for Week 1 at Minnesota is a lingering question mark.
