The Bills signed Trubisky on Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Steelers released Trubisky last month after a failed two-year run with the team where the 29-year-old went 2-5 as a starter and was benched multiple times in favor of Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph. Trubisky spent the 2021 season as Josh Allen's backup with the Bills and will head back to a familiar spot, where he'll replace Kyle Allen as Buffalo's QB2.

The Steelers cut Trubisky on Monday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Among his five appearances during the 2023 season, Trubisky earned two starts and overall completed 67 of 107 passes for 632 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions while rushing 16 times for 54 yards and two more scores. Both Kenny Pickett early and Mason Rudolph late in the campaign played over Trubisky when they were healthy, and with the decision to move on from the latter, he'll get a head start on his next destination.

Trubisky (coach's decision) is listed as inactive for Saturday's matchup with the Ravens, but he will be available as an emergency option, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky will only see the field if both Mason Rudolph and Kenny Pickett happen to get knocked out of the game. The veteran Trubisky started for a three-week stretch before getting demoted the previous two games.

Head coach Mike Tomlin announced Thursday that Trubisky will serve as the No. 2 quarterback behind Mason Rudolph for Saturday's game against the Bengals, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kenny Pickett will remain out for a third game in a row while recovering from tightrope surgery on his right ankle, but Trubisky will be bumped down to second on the depth chart in favor of Rudolph after starting the prior two contests. Trubisky went 0-2 during his brief run as a starter, completing 38 of 58 pass attempts for 359 yards (6.2 YPA), two touchdowns and three interceptions while adding 31 yards and two scores on 10 carries. The Steelers benched Trubisky late in this past Saturday's 30-13 loss to the Colts and turned to Rudolph, who will now get his first start since the 2021 season. Pickett was a limited participant in practice Tuesday through Thursday and could be ready to return to the lineup Week 17 versus the Seahawks, so Trubisky may find himself as a healthy inactive for that contest as the Steelers' emergency No. 3 quarterback.

Coach Mike Tomlin said Monday that Pittsburgh plans to start Mason Rudolph over Trubisky against the Bengals on Saturday, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tomlin added that Kenny Pickett (ankle) will reclaim the starting role whenever he's healthy enough to do so, which could be as soon as Saturday's game. Trubisky entered in relief of Pickett in Week 13, then started the next two games, all of which the Steelers lost. He'll presumably drop to third on the quarterback depth chart once Pickett's healthy, but Trubisky could remain in a backup role behind Rudolph against the Bengals if Pickett doesn't gain clearance to play.

Trubisky was benched late in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against the Colts, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky led the Steelers to 13 points in the first quarter, but he couldn't muster any scoring drives for the rest of his time leading the offense. He also threw a pair of interceptions, the latter of which likely clinched a win for the Colts. Mason Rudolph will enter the game in his place, leaving Pittsburgh's quarterback situation very ambiguous heading into a Week 16 matchup against the Bengals.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed Monday that Trubisky will make a second consecutive start Saturday in Indianapolis while Kenny Pickett continues his recovery from ankle surgery, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Pickett set to be inactive for the second week in a row, Mason Rudolph will serve as the No. 2 quarterback behind Trubisky, who could have a shorter leash Week 15 after turning in a listless showing against the 3-10 Patriots in this past Thursday's 21-18 loss. Trubisky completed 22 of 35 passes for 190 yards, one touchdown and one interception and added 30 yards and a score on eight carries, and he was spared another interception in the first half when a Patriots defender was called for pass interference. He profiles as a lower-end fantasy option for Week 15, though the rushing ability that he displayed last Thursday and during his time with the Bears could give him some appeal in leagues that start two quarterbacks or have a QB flex spot.

Trubisky completed 22 of 35 passes for 190 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night. He also rushed eight times for 30 yards and another score and threw a two-point conversion pass.
EDGE Analysis
Making his first start of Kenny Pickett's (ankle) projected multi-game absence, Trubisky turned in a lackluster effort that featured plenty of inaccurate throws and saw him average only 5.4 yards per attempt. The veteran did serve as the Steelers' leading rusher -- albeit with a modest yardage total -- and connected with Diontae Johnson on a 25-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter. Trubisky added a one-yard scoring sneak early in the fourth quarter following a blocked punt that set the Steelers up in excellent field position, and he tacked on a sharp two-point conversion pass to Pat Freiermuth after that touchdown. However, Pittsburgh's next two drives ended in a punt and on downs, and Trubisky then padded his final numbers with 24- and 21-yard completions to Johnson and Allen Robinson, respectively, on the final two plays. With some additional time between Thursday's contest and a Week 15 Saturday afternoon road matchup against the Colts on Dec. 16, it remains to be seen if Trubisky is usurped by Mason Rudolph for a start if Pickett remains out, as is highly likely.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Monday that Trubisky will start at quarterback Thursday against the Patriots, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky will step in for his first start of the season as a replacement for Kenny Pickett, who exited Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Cardinals with a high right-ankle sprain and underwent surgery Monday. Though Tomlin clarified that the injury won't end Pickett's season, the second-year signal-caller is expected to miss "a couple weeks," according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Trubisky thus could be in line for an additional start or two beyond Thursday's game, which features a matchup of two teams who both rank in the bottom third in the league in both points and yards per game. Though Trubisky has shown flashes of fantasy relevance in the past thanks to his scrambling ability, he hasn't been particularly impressive over roughly five quarters of work while filing in for a banged-up Pickett this season. Across those three appearances, Trubisky completed 29 of 49 passes (59.2 percent) for 273 yards (5.6 YPA), two touchdowns and two interceptions while carrying six times for 23 yards.

Trubisky completed 11 of 17 passes for 117 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 24-10 loss to Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky entered the game just before halftime after Kenny Pickett suffered an ankle injury. He struggled to move the offense until the game was out of reach, as 65 of his yards came on the Steelers' final drive with the team down 21 points. Pickett is expected to miss time and will face a short turnaround before Thursday's matchup against the Patriots, meaning Trubisky is likely to get at least one start.
