Trubisky completed seven of nine pass attempts for 54 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions while rushing once for 24 yards during Thursday's 24-0 preseason win over the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
After a lackluster performance in the preseason opener, Trubisky has turned things around during the last two matchups, completing 17 of 22 pass attempts for 132 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions while rushing three times for 37 yards. Mason Rudolph wasn't nearly as effective during Thursday's preseason finale, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Trubisky open the regular season as the Steelers' No. 2 quarterback.

Trubisky completed 10 of 13 pass attempts for 78 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions while rushing twice for 13 yards during Saturday's 27-15 win over the Bills.
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky wasn't very effective during the Steelers' preseason opener, but he saw the most work of any of the team's quarterbacks Saturday and was an effective option. Kenny Pickett is still the team's clear starter, but it was encouraging to see Trubisky generate some production Saturday, especially after Mason Rudolph put together another solid performance.

Trubisky completed one of four pass attempts for 10 yards, no touchdowns and an interception during Friday's 27-17 preseason win over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Although Trubisky lost his starting job with the Steelers early in the 2023 campaign, he landed a two-year contract extension with the team during the offseason. Kenny Pickett is the clear top starting option for the Steelers ahead of the regular season, so Trubisky's performances don't carry as much weight this preseason. However, Pittsburgh also has Mason Rudolph and Tanner Morgan in the quarterback room, and it's possible one of them challenges Trubisky for the No. 2 job if he continues to struggle.

Trubisky is signing a two-year extension with the Steelers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky signed a two-year contract last offseason and was scheduled for a $10 million cap hit in 2023. This reportedly lowers the cap charge, and it may also give him a degree of security beyond the upcoming season (or not... it depends on what the details are). The Steelers recently re-signed Mason Rudolph, who might technically get a chance to challenge Trubisky for the second spot on the depth chart but will be a big underdog in that competition. Kenny Pickett enters spring practices as the unquestioned starter, though his rookie-year performance suggests he could land on the hot seat quickly if things don't go well in September.

Trubisky appeared in seven games during the 2022 season and completed 65.0 percent of his pass attempts for 1,252 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions while rushing 19 times for 38 yards and two touchdowns.
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky began his first season with the Steelers as the starting quarterback but was replaced by Kenny Pickett during the team's Week 4 loss to the Jets. While Trubisky appeared in three games later in the year to fill in when Pickett was hurt, the rookie first-rounder was used as the starter when healthy and led the Steelers to a winning record. Trubisky signed a two-year contract with Pittsburgh in March of 2022 and will likely serve in a backup capacity next year unless the Steelers elect to move on during the offseason.

Trubisky is set to serve as the No. 2 quarterback behind Kenny Pickett in Saturday's game against the Raiders after Pickett cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol Monday and resumed practicing fully this week, Dale Lolley of the Steelers' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite struggling in relief of a concussed Pickett in the Steelers' Week 14 loss to the Ravens, Trubisky drew the starting assignment over No. 3 quarterback Mason Rudolph while Pickett remained in the protocol for this past week's game against the Panthers. Though Trubisky was believed to be on a short leash entering the contest, he ended up playing every snap on offense and served as an effective game manager in the 24-16 win over Carolina, completing 17 of 22 pass attempts for 179 yards while rushing for a score and committing no turnovers. The performance won't be enough for Trubisky to remain the starter now that Pickett is healthy again, but it should allow Trubisky to stick ahead of Rudolph on the depth chart until further notice.

Trubisky completed 17 of 22 passes for 179 yards in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Panthers. He also rushed six times for nine yards and a touchdown.
EDGE Analysis
Trubisky led the Steelers to a road victory while getting the nod over Mason Rudolph to replace injured starter Kenny Pickett (concussion). Along with connecting with top wideout Diontae Johnson for a season-high 10 catches, Trubisky added a scoring rush with a quarterback sneak during the third quarter. Despite his serviceable performance Sunday, Trubisky would figure to return to the sideline should Pickett be cleared for Week 16's game versus the Raiders.

Trubisky will start Sunday's game against the Panthers, but he could have a short leash if he struggles early on during the contest, sources tell Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
EDGE Analysis
Though he'll pick up his first start since Week 4 with rookie Kenny Pickett (concussion) ruled out in advance of Sunday's contest, Trubisky doesn't look as though he'll have much margin for error. After coming on in relief of the concussed Pickett in last week's 16-14 loss to the Ravens, Trubisky completed 22 of 30 pass attempts for 276 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions while also taking a sack. With Pickett sidelined in practice throughout the week, Trubisky split first-team reps Wednesday through Friday with Mason Rudolph before head coach Mike Tomlin named Trubisky the Week 15 starter following Friday's session. Rudolph has been the Steelers' third-string quarterback all season, but he'll dress as the backup Sunday and should be prepared to step in if Trubisky puts the Steelers in an early hole.

Trubisky will start Sunday's game against the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
With Kenny Pickett (concussion) downgraded to out Saturday, Trubisky has been confirmed as Sunday's starter, which sets the stage for Mason Rudolph to serve as the team's No. 2 QB versus Carolina. In that context, Trubisky -- who started the Steelers' first four games of the season -- represents a Week 15 lineup option for those in QB-heavy leagues or who are otherwise scrambling for a short-term option at the position.

Trubisky is expected to start Sunday's game against the Panthers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Kenny Pickett listed as doubtful and still in the NFL's concussion protocol, Trubisky is expected to get the starting nod Sunday rather than Mason Rudolph, who he had been splitting practice reps with. Trubisky thus provides those scrambling for QB help in Week 15 with a lineup option, while Pickett will look to gain clearance to play in Week 16 against Las Vegas.
