Gallup failed to catch either of his two targets in Sunday's win over the Lions.
EDGE Analysis
Dak Prescott's return from a thumb injury created a lot of optimism around the Cowboys offense, but Gallup instead had his worst performance since he rejoined the lineup Week 4. CeeDee Lamb and Noah Brown both posted solid numbers against Detroit, so the issue appears to be more on Gallup's end than Prescott's, and it's possible he's simply hit a bit of a wall after missing all of the offseason program and preseason while recovering from last season's ACL tear. Gallup will look to rebound Week 8 against the Bears, but fantasy GMs might be better off keeping him on benches until after Dallas' Week 9 bye.

Gallup caught just two of seven targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 26-17 loss to the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Cooper Rush was not up to the task of facing Philadelphia's dominant defensive unit, as he failed to complete half of his passes and Gallup was the receiver who suffered the worst (28.6 catch rate). There are two positive takeaways to be had from the wideout's rough game. First, Gallup's seven targets finished only behind CeeDee Lamb's 10. The other good news is that Dak Prescott (thumb) could return as soon as next Sunday's matchup against the Lions, which would boost all of Dallas' receiving options heading into a soft matchup. Gallup will serve as the No. 2 receiver for whoever lines up under center in Week 7.

Gallup caught four of five targets for 44 yards in Sunday's 22-10 win over the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
The Cowboys' passing game didn't have much to do in a game dominated by the team's defense and rushing attack, but Gallup still carved out a little production for himself in his second game of the season. The veteran receiver appears to be rounding into form after last year's knee injury, just in time for a big NFC East clash with the Eagles in Week 6.

Gallup caught two passes for 24 yards and one touchdown on three targets against Washington on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Gallup's target count was a bit disappointing, but he didn't seem especially limited as he made his 2022 debut following his 2021 season-ending ACL tear. A more likely reason for Gallup's limited usage would simply be the fact that quarterback Cooper Rush, though he played well overall Sunday, doesn't have the arm to make the most of Gallup's downfield skill set. If Dak Prescott (thumb) can return to full strength soon that would probably help Gallup generate a bit more momentum.

Gallup (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gallup finally has been removed from the injury report after two weeks of full participation in every practice. Other players coming back from severe injuries have struggled to stay healthy this year, but the Cowboys hope they've been cautious enough to reduce Gallup's odds of meeting the same fate. To that end, he may have his snaps limited in his first game or two back in the lineup. He'll start off with a friendly matchup against a struggling, poorly coached Washington defense, potentially taking snaps away from Noah Brown and/or Jalen Tolbert.

Gallup (knee) practiced in full Thursday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dating back to last Thursday, Gallup has handled every practice rep, but his season debut has been delayed as he completes the later stages of his recovery from the torn left ACL that he sustained back on Jan. 2. There's hope he'll feel comfortable enough to return to action Sunday against the Commanders, but if he enters the weekend as questionable, a game-time decision likely is in store for Gallup. If he's available to the Cowboys offense, he's expected to work with quarterback Cooper Rush instead of Dak Prescott, who remains in recovery mode from a fractured right thumb.

Gallup (knee) practiced fully Wednesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After ramping up to and maintaining full practice participation last week, Gallup had a chance to return this past Monday in New York. Ultimately, the Cowboys exercised caution with the fifth-year wide receiver and held him out for the win over the Giants, instead turning focus to getting him ready for Sunday's game against the Commanders. Head coach Mike McCarthy told Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site Tuesday that he was "hopeful" Gallup will be available Week 4, and Gallup himself said Wednesday that he's "fine" and "ready to go," per Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. If he does enough to make his season debut this weekend, Gallup likely will be on the receiving end of passes from Cooper Rush with Dak Prescott still in the midst of his recovery from a broken right thumb.

Gallup (knee) said Wednesday he feels physically "fine," Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gallup said he felt capable of playing in Monday's win over the Giants, but said that he's in need of a few more padded practices before being mentally prepared to make his return to the field. Hill reports that Gallup is eying his season debut Sunday versus the Commanders, but the situation will still warrant monitoring. Cooper Rush looks on track to draw another start versus Washington, but top quarterback Dak Prescott (thumb) could be back in action as soon as Week 5.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday that Gallup (knee) will "get a bunch of work" Wednesday and "is close" to making his season debut, adding he's "hopeful" the wideout will suit up Sunday against the Commanders, Patrik Walker of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gallup logged a few days of practices ahead of the team's Monday night contest against the Giants, but he was ultimately held out. However, barring a setback, it appears like he'll have a good shot at making his season debut in Week 4. Noah Brown has emerged as a solid target for Cooper Rush, who continues to fill in for Dak Prescott (thumb), but when Gallup eventually returns, he'll likely slide into the No. 2 spot behind CeeDee Lamb.

Gallup (knee) is listed as inactive Monday at the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Gallup put together a full week of practice in advance of the Dallas' Week 3 contest, providing optimism the fifth-year wide receiver may be able to log his first game action since tearing the ACL in his left knee on Jan. 2. However, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported earlier Monday that Gallup instead was trending toward another absence, which has come to pass. While CeeDee Lamb and Noah Brown will lead the team's receiving corps for another week, Gallup will set his sights on making his season debut Sunday against the Commanders, for which both he and the Cowboys are hopeful he'll be play, per Jane Slater of NFL Network.
