Carter rushed 16 times for 118 yards and caught two of three targets for six yards in Sunday's 26-21 win over the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
Carter set a new career high in rushing yards, easily topping his previous best of 77 from the Week 8 win over the Bengals. With their top three wide receivers injured, the Jets pounded Jacksonville's defense into submission with 273 yards on the ground. Carter was significantly more effective than Tevin Coleman, who rushed 14 times for 57 yards, while quarterback Zach Wilson chipped in 91 rushing yards, including a 52-yard touchdown. Building on this productive effort won't be easy for Carter in Week 17 against the stout Tampa Bay run defense.

Carter (ankle) rushed eight times for 18 yards and caught one of two targets for two yards in Sunday's 31-24 loss to Miami.
EDGE Analysis
Carter made his return after spending the previous three games on IR and split carries with Tevin Coleman, who gained 50 yards on his eight carries. The rookie looked tentative and tied his Week 1 career low with just 20 scrimmage yards, but Carter should shake off some of the rust in Week 16 against the Jaguars.

Carter (ankle) has been activated off IR in advance of Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
The move was expected, with Rich Cimini of ESPN.com previously relaying via coach coach Robert Saleh that Carter -- in his first game action since Week 11 -- will have "a significant role" Sunday. With that in mind, look for the 2021 fourth-rounder to head the Jets' Week 15 rushing attack, with Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson also factoring in and Austin Walter and La'Mical Perine in reserve.

Carter (ankle) is expected to be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Dolphins, and coach Robert Saleh said the rookie will have "a significant role," Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carter was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, and it appears the Jets will waste little time returning their talented rookie to the feature role in the backfield. Tevin Coleman (concussion) is also expected to return this week, so New York's backfield should be at full strength in Miami.

Carter (ankle) has been designated to return from IR.
EDGE Analysis
Carter, who suffered a low-grade high-ankle sprain Week 11, is thus a candidate to be activated off IR in advance of Sunday's game against Miami, barring any setbacks. Meanwhile, fellow running back Tevin Coleman (concussion) is in line to be cleared for action this week as well, which sets the stage for the Jets backfield to get a big lift Week 15.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said he expects Carter (ankle) to return from injured reserve for Sunday's game in Miami, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie running back has been sidelined for New York's last three games with a low-grade ankle sprain, but he looks like he'll be in store for a minimum-length stay on IR. Before the Jets add him back to the roster, the team presumably will see how he checks out in their first Week 15 practice Wednesday, when he'll likely be designated for return from IR. If he demonstrates enough progress to get the green light for Sunday, Carter could immediately supplant Tevin Coleman (concussion) and Ty Johnson as the lead option out of the backfield. After seeing the field for no more than 46 percent of the Jets' offensive snaps through the first three weeks of the season, Carter handled at least half of the snaps in six straight games prior to exiting early with the injury Week 11. During that six-game stretch, Carter averaged 89.3 yards from scrimmage and 0.67 touchdowns on 13 carries and 4.3 receptions per contest.

The Jets placed Carter (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday, ruling him out for Weeks 12-14, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Robert Saleh already hinted at a multi-game absence, and Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the rookie likely would be out 2-3 weeks with a low-grade high ankle sprain. It's now confirmed as a minimum of three missed games, with Carter next eligible to play Week 15 against Miami. The Jets are left with Ty Johnson, Tevin Coleman and La'Mical Perine in their backfield, with at least the first two expected to get work in the Week 12 game against Houston on Sunday.

Head coach Robert Saleh confirmed that Carter will miss "a couple weeks" after he suffered a low-grade ankle sprain in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Dolphins, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Saleh made the announcement minutes after Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the injury would sideline Carter for 2-to-3 weeks. While the rookie is out of action for the Jets' Week 12 game in Houston and likely an additional contest to follow, expect the team to rely on the tandem of Ty Johnson and Tevin Coleman as its main options out of the backfield.

Carter was diagnosed Monday with a low-grade high-ankle sprain that will likely keep him sidelined for 2-to-3 weeks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schefter's report indicates that Carter is dealing with either a Grade 1 or Grade 2 sprain after the running back was forced out of Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Dolphins with the injury. After the rookie running back exited the contest early in the third quarter, Tevin Coleman out-touched Ty Johnson by a 4-2 margin. Expect Coleman and Johnson to work in a loose timeshare while Carter is likely out for at least the next two games, with La'Mical Perine -- who was inactive Week 11 -- ranking third in the backfield pecking order.

Carter was forced out of Sunday's game against the Dolphins with an ankle injury.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to his exit from the contest, Carter had logged nine carries for 63 yards and caught his only target for two yards. In his absence, Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson are next up for the Jets' carries.
