Seastrunk has been seeing plenty of action right away in OTAs due to injuries to Darren McFadden (hamstring) and Ryan Williams (knee), the Dallas Morning News reports.
At this point he's still a long shot to make the team out of training camp, but neither McFadden nor Williams are exactly iron men, so if Seastrunk can make a positive impression he could yet factor into the Cowboys' 2015 plans.

Seastrunk signed with the Cowboys on Monday.
Selected in the sixth round by the Redskins last year, Seastrunk spent part of his rookie season on the Panthers' practice squad, after failing to survive final cuts in Washington. He was impressive in his two seasons at Baylor, and while he'll face a challenge trying to make the Dallas roster, he did well to find a team that lacks talent at his position. If he can somehow make the roster and earn a role, Seastrunk would get to run behind a first-rate offensive line.

Seastrunk was signed to the Panthers' practice squad Tuesday, NFL.com reports.
Seastrunk was drafted in the sixth round by the Redskins this year, but failed to make the team's 53-man roster despite a solid preseason showing. In three exhibition appearances, Seastrunk totaled 121 yards on 25 carries and also caught two passes for 88 yards. While he's only on the Panthers' practice squad at the moment, running back Fozzy Whittaker's recent quadriceps injury could open a roster spot in the near future, should Seastrunk impress Carolina's coaching staff.

Seastrunk has reportedly been released by the Redskins, the Washington Post reports.
The report adds that Evan Royster and Chris Thompson are also being let go by the Redskins. Thus, as it stands, Silas Redd is in line to serve as the the team's No. 3 back behind Alfred Morris and Roy Helu.

Seastrunk gained 63 yards on 12 carries in Thursday's preseason opener against the Patriots.
Roy Helu (knee) and Chris Thompson (ankle) suffered seemingly-minor injuries during Thursday's game, though both were first able to get in quite a bit of work. Seastrunk carried the Washington offense in the fourth quarter, standing out among the running backs that are competing for a role behind Morris and Helu. Silas Redd also had a nice game, gaining 45 yards on nine carries, with two receptions for 18 yards. The biggest knock on Seastrunk is his lack of receiving ability.

ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim expects sixth-round rookie Lache Seastrunk to be utilized as a "spot player" on offense this year.
Keim doesn't see Seastrunk as a candidate for Washington's third-down back job after a drop-filled college career where he struggled mightily in blitz pickup. He could still be a change-of-pace weapon on 3-5 carries per game. The Redskins will open the season with Alfred Morris and Roy Helu as their top two running backs. Seastrunk is the favorite to be No. 3, ahead of Chris Thompson.

ESPN 980 Washington's Chris Russell suggests Redskins sixth-round pick Lache Seastrunk could end up on the practice squad.
Russell notes new coach Jay Gruden was a fan of holdover RB Chris Thompson coming out of Florida State. Thompson and Seastrunk have similar skills, and the former is better in the passing game. Per Russell, Seastrunk "has a long way to go." He dropped too many passes at Baylor, and struggles in pass protection.

The Redskins do not envision sixth-round pick Lache Seastrunk as a year-one contributor on passing downs.
Seastrunk was an atrocious college pass blocker, and dropped a whopping 10 of his 19 catchable targets in two seasons at Baylor. "The major reach for him would be picking up blitzes and running routes out of the backfield," coach Jay Gruden said. "No knock on him, but it might take him time. He has a long way to go." Seastrunk projects as an early-down change-of-pace back only.

Redskins sixth-round RB Lache Seastrunk insists he can be a viable receiver at the NFL level.
Seastrunk had more drops (10) than catches (9) during his two years at Baylor. "I feel like I don't have any weaknesses," Seastruck said. "I feel I can catch the ball very well. ... Everybody is gonna drop balls. Calvin Johnson drops balls. So I'm not worried about that." Coach Jay Gruden has already said Seastrunk is unlikely to be an option on third downs, so short of a total reinvention, he'll focus on first and second downs.
