Palmer caught two targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
Palmer at least saw his opportunities in line with No. 3 wideout Jalen Guyton (two catches, 13 yards), but it's fair to say the third-round rookie hasn't flashed over the first two weeks. Don't anticipate a change in his fantasy value unless an injury shakes up the top of the depth chart.

Palmer caught his lone target for 17 yards in Sunday's 20-16 win over Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Two weeks after reportedly beating out Tyron Johnson for the Chargers' No. 3 wideout role, Palmer saw just 14 offensive snaps compared to Jaylen Guyton's 53. The team could have simply been easing the rookie into his first professional game, but the difference in snaps is jarring given how strong the 2021 third-rounder's training camp supposedly was. Palmer's playing time likely will increase as the season progresses, but for the moment he's safely off the radar, even in deeper fantasy formats.

Palmer secured the No. 3 wide receiver role after the Chargers waived Tyron Johnson on Tuesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
There had been rumblings Palmer pushed ahead of Johnson for the No. 3 role after the latter's lackluster showing throughout the waning weeks of training camp, but it's still jarring the Chargers opted to outright cut Johnson given his big-play ability displayed last season. Jalen Guyton (leg) remains a speedy threat waiting in the wings, especially when when considering the top two wideouts -- Keenan Allen and Mike Williams -- are far from burners, but it's clear the team likes Palmer as an outside intermediate threat. The rookie's role in what figures to be an explosive offense will be one of the key points to monitor in the team's opener Sept. 12 against Washington.

Palmer secured three of five targets for 26 yards in the Chargers' 27-0 preseason loss to the Seahawks on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie third-round pick enjoyed a productive showing by preseason standards, checking in third on the night in receptions, receiving yards and targets. Palmer also recorded a touchdown grab in preseason Week 2 against the 49ers, but the player he's battling for the No. 3 job, Tyron Johnson, notably notched a team-best 4-41 line Saturday night.

Palmer caught his lone target for a three-yard touchdown in Sunday's 15-10 preseason loss to the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Palmer is locked in a heated battle with Tyron Johnson for the No. 3 wide receiver role. While the former did net the Chargers' only touchdown Sunday, it came on a broken play in which quarterback Easton Stick escaped out of the pocket and drew three defenders in, only to flip it over the top to an uncovered Palmer. Conversely, Johnson caught four of his six targets, but most were short dump offs from the lackluster combo of Stick and Chase Daniel. Daniel Popper of The Athletic relayed in a report earlier this week Palmer was the clear-cut third wide receiver as of now, but the rookie also was spotted as a special teams gunner in Friday's practice, suggesting the team might not be fully convinced with that assessment. In either case, Palmer has made a positive impression throughout training camp and remains an intriguing name to monitor in deeper formats.

The Chargers selected Palmer in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, 77th overall.
EDGE Analysis
The Tennesse product was considered by some to be more of a Day 3 prospect, but his stock was on the rise leading up to the draft. Palmer dealt with shoddy quarterback play during his time in Knoxville, yet he still produced with 90 catches for 1,416 yards and seven touchdowns on 169 targets in his final three seasons. He's skilled at tracking the ball downfield, which makes him an interesting fit in Los Angeles. The Chargers have a pair of studs at the top of their receiver depth chart, but there are targets to be had in this offense.
