The Browns likely will wait until Friday to activate Gordon (suspension) from the Reserve/Commissioner Exempt list for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team seems to have already made the decision to bring Gordon back for Sunday's game, but waiting until Friday allows more time to decide who he'll replace on the 53-man roster. He's been around the Browns since early November and began practicing with the team last week, drawing rave reviews from both reporters and coaches. While a regular starter's workload shouldn't be assumed on the heels of a three-year layoff, Gordon should have a significant role in the Week 13 gameplan against a scorching-hot Chargers defense. He could even push Corey Coleman for No. 1 receiver status by the end of the year.

The Browns plan to activate Gordon (suspension) from the Reserve/Commissioner Exempt list when he's first eligible to return ahead of the team's Week 13 game against the Chargers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
After he was granted conditional reinstatement from the NFL earlier this month, Gordon did everything the Browns asked of him before returning to practice during the past week. Observers have indicated that despite a nearly three-year layoff from NFL action, Gordon has looked good during practices, putting him on track to have a role in the Week 13 game plan. Because of the extensive time he's missed, Gordon probably won't be asked to play extended snaps right away, but once he's back up to full speed, he could emerge as one of the top targets in a porous Browns receiving corps.

Gordon looked good at Wednesday's practice and still has the support of Browns head coach Hue Jackson, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "It's like Christmas,'' Jackson said. "I get to open a new toy. I know what's in that box, but I just want to see how good it is. It's exciting that he'll be back out there."
EDGE Analysis
Gordon worked out with the quarterbacks Monday but had to wait until Wednesday for his first official full-squad practice. It sounds like Jackson expects the 26-year-old wideout to step right into a key role when first eligible to play in Week 13 against the Chargers. Of course, Gordon will first need to prove that he's in good enough shape to handle a significant snap count -- something that shouldn't be taken as a given for a player who hasn't made an NFL appearance since December 2014. Even if he's a bit rusty, Gordon probably wouldn't take long to re-establish himself as an upgrade from the likes of Ricardo Louis, Kenny Britt, Rashard Higgins and Sammie Coates (ankle/knee). Jackson presumably is excited to see Gordon, Corey Coleman and DeShone Kizer all on the field together in a game

Gordon (suspension) worked out with the Browns' quarterbacks Monday and will take part in the team's first official practice of the week Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Per Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal, head coach Hue Jackson said that Gordon, who was granted conditional reinstatement from the NFL earlier this month, has done "everything we've asked him to do thus far" and is closing in on a return to the 53-man roster for the final five games of the Browns' season. Assuming Gordon isn't dramatically behind the rest of his teammates from a conditioning standpoint while he takes part in practices the next two weeks, he should be activated for the Week 13 matchup with the Chargers and make his first NFL appearance since December 2014. That lengthy layoff makes it difficult to forecast to what extent Gordon will be involved in the passing game once he's activated, but his outstanding production in past seasons might be enough to justify stashing him in leagues where he's still siting on the waiver wire.

Browns head coach Hue Jackson said Gordon (suspension) is expected to resume practicing when first eligible Nov. 20, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since being conditionally reinstated by the NFL a little over two weeks ago, Gordon has consistently been present at the Browns' team facility and has impressed the coaching staff with his renewed dedication to football. Gordon's long layoff from competitive NFL action means he'll likely have plenty of rust to shake off upon returning to practice, so it's not a lock that he'll immediately reemerge as the Browns' top wideout once he's eligible to play in games beginning with the Week 13 matchup with the Chargers. Jackson's comments during Gordon's initial practices should provide more clarity on what kind of role the 26-year-old will have in the Browns' offensive game plan upon his activation.

Gordon (suspension) believes he is now on good terms with Browns head coach Hue Jackson and executive vice president Sashi Brown, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "Considering my situation, I believe that's fair just the frustration aspect of it,'' Gordon said. "Myself, the franchise, the fans, everybody was frustrated at that point in time, so I understand it. I believe me and coach Jackson, Sashi Brown and the front office have moved on. They obviously welcomed me back into the organization. I'm looking forward to this year.''
EDGE Analysis
Jackson and Brown publicly expressed frustration with Gordon last season when he checked himself back into rehab instead of rejoining the team. The Browns apparently are inclined to give Gordon another shot, perhaps motivated by an utter lack of wideout production in the absence of Corey Coleman (hand), who returned to practice Monday and could be back as soon as Sunday's game in Detroit. Gordon said Tuesday's one-on-one meeting with Jackson went well, potentially setting up a return in Week 13 when the 26-year-old receiver will first be eligible to play. With Kenny Britt shaping up as a huge disappointment, the Browns presumably are excited about the potential to see Gordon and Coleman on the field at the same time. Gordon reported to the team Tuesday, but he isn't allowed to practice until Week 12 or play in a game until Week 13. It's important that he stay on good terms with both the coaching staff and front office, considering recent reports suggest only one of the two will survive this ugly campaign.

Gordon (suspension) is scheduled to report to the Browns' team facility Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The Browns are hopeful that Gordon will be ready to play when first eligible Week 13 against the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
After having been under an indefinite suspension since September 2016 following multiple violations of the NFL's substance-abuse policy, Gordon was conditionally reinstated Nov. 1, allowing him to resume team activities beginning this week. Because Gordon hasn't appeared in an NFL game since Dec. 21, 2014, he could be well behind the rest of his teammates from a conditioning standpoint, which may result in the Browns limiting his involvement in the offense initially once he returns to active status. Even so, it's conceivable that the athletically gifted Gordon, who caught 87 passes for 1,646 yards in his last full season in 2013, could emerge as the top target in a porous Browns receiving corps during the final quarter of the season, making him an intriguing player to stash on fantasy rosters for the time being. Assuming his initial workouts with the team go well, Gordon will resume practicing Nov. 20, giving him a full week to prepare for the Nov. 27 matchup with Los Angeles.

Gordon (suspension) has been reinstated by the league on a conditional basis, NFL.com reports. "Effective immediately, Gordon may join the Browns to attend meetings, engage in conditioning work and individual workouts," the league relayed Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Wednesday's statement from the NFL further notes that "subject to compliance with clinical and other requirements, (Gordon) will be placed on the Commissioner's Exempt list and be permitted to practice with the (Browns) beginning on November 20." Then on November 27, Gordon will be eligible to return to Cleveland's active roster, an outcome that remains subject to the team's discretion. With that in mind, Gordon won't be playing in any games before Week 13, but if all goes well for him, and the Browns like what they see from the wideout once he rejoins the team, he could see some action down the stretch. It remains to be seen if Gordon will be able to make a fantasy splash, given the long layoff (he has not played in an NFL game since December of 2014) and the Browns' QB situation, but based on talent alone, he's worth a speculative add for those with a degree of roster flexibility.

Gordon (suspension) will meet with the NFL on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's not entirely clear what will be discussed between the two parties Tuesday, but it seems likely the topic of reinstatement will come up. This news does not have an immediate effect on Gordon's fantasy value, but the report indicates the Browns could look to trade Gordon's rights, so it at least brings his status back to the forefront.

Gordon (suspension) went to rehab two months ago in cooperation with the NFL in hopes of being reinstated in late September, Jason Cole of BleacherReport.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gordon, whose petition for reinstatement was denied in May, is eligible to re-apply in September. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said last week that the potential reinstatement of Gordon "is not under active consideration." Gordon has not played in an NFL game since 2014 after multiple substance abuse violations and his rights are retained by the Browns. While this is a positive development, it still looks like an extreme long shot he'll be back to play this season.
