Downs brought in two of three targets for 12 yards in the Colts' 33-8 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
As his final line indicates, Downs went through a very quiet afternoon in his first regular-season action with Daniel Jones as his quarterback. The dynamic third-year pro opened the season in the No. 2 role, but rookie tight end Tyler Warren, who drew a team-leading nine targets right out of the gate, is expected to cause a hit to Downs' opportunities over the course of the season. Additionally, No. 3 and No. 4 wideouts Alec Pierce and Adonai Mitchell accounted for another five looks from Daniel Jones, further clouding Downs' outlook heading into a Week 2 home showdown against a tough Broncos defense next Sunday.

Downs (hamstring) isn't listed on the initial injury report for Sunday's game against Miami.
EDGE Analysis
He's apparently made a full recovery from the hamstring injury that kept him out of practice throughout the second half of August. With that out of the way, Downs gets a favorable matchup to start the season, facing a Miami secondary that has four players unavailable while on injury lists. One of those players is standout nickelback Kader Kohou, who might otherwise have matched up against Downs for much of Sunday's game. Fifth-round rookie Jason Marshall is the favorite to replace Kohou in the slot, although the Dolphins could also use 30-year-old Rasul Douglas or one of their safeties there. Either way, Downs should have the edge.

Coach Shane Steichen expects Downs (hamstring) to return to practice by next week, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Downs has been dealing with a hamstring issue since Aug. 14, but it appears as though he's not too far away from returning to practice. With that in mind, the wideout is trending toward being ready for Week 1 action, in the absence of any setbacks.

Downs (hamstring) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The wideout left last Thursday's practice with a hamstring injury, and given his continued absence, Downs seems unlikely to see any action in Saturday's preseason finale against the Bengals. When he's healthy, Downs is key contributor in a Colts WR corps that also features Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce.

Downs (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, the Indianapolis Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Downs left practice Aug. 14 with a hamstring injury and didn't play in Saturday's preseason game. He's unlikely to play in Indy's final preseason game, so the severity of the injury may not become more clear until practice next week ahead of the start of the regular season.

Downs (hamstring) did not play in Thursday's preseason loss to Green Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Downs left Thursday's practice with a hamstring injury. It's not surprising that he didn't play in the game as a result, but the severity of the injury still isn't clear. He was able to walk off under his own power when leaving practice Thursday.

Downs left Thursday's practice with a hamstring injury, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The report notes that Downs walked off under his own power, but the wideout's status for Saturday's preseason contest against the Packers nonetheless is worth monitoring. Consider Downs day-to-day for now.

Downs and most other veteran starters didn't play in Thursday's 24-16 preseason loss at Baltimore.
EDGE Analysis
Fellow wideouts Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce also were rested, leaving Adonai Mitchell, Ashton Dulin, Anthony Gould and rookie tight end Tyler Warren as the the top targets for QB Anthony Richardson, who left the game after a handful of snaps due to a finger dislocation on his throwing hand. Richardson should be fine by Week 1, but the QB situation remains a major concern for Downs' fantasy value after his 2024 production was heavily concentrated in the games Joe Flacco played. Daniel Jones, for all his flaws, is a better bet than Richardson to support fantasy-viable pass catchers -- and especially receivers that rely on short-area targets, like Downs and Pittman. The Colts may give their starters some run in the second or third preseason game, although it's unclear if Richardson or Jones will take the QB reps.

Downs caught 10 of 13 passes for 94 yards in Sunday's 26-23 overtime win over the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
The catches and targets were season highs for Downs, who led the Colts in receiving in Week 18, while the yardage total was his second-highest of 2024. The second-year wideout saw a modest increase on his rookie production, posting a 72-803-5 line on 107 targets over 14 games this year, and while he flashed his talent on a consistent basis, his ceiling was limited by the erratic quarterbacking of Anthony Richardson (back). Downs could have a true breakout in 2025, but it would likely require Richardson to take a big step forward as well.

Downs caught three of four targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 45-33 loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Downs reeled in just three passes for the fourth straight game, as the 23-year-old wideout has failed to produce consistently for fantasy purposes. Downs played 47 of the Colts' 77 offensive snaps Sunday, operating in his No. 3 wide receiver role behind Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce. The North Carolina product will look to bounce back in the season finale when the Colts visit the Jaguars in Week 18.
