Allen suffered a sprained left knee during Sunday's game against Philadelphia and is considered week-to-week, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This isn't great news for the Alabama product who was coming off a breakout season in 2018. Expect the team to update his status as necessary, but at this point, Allen should be considered questionable for Week 2 against Dallas. As long as Allen is sidelined, Caleb Brantley should see an increase in snaps at defensive end.

Allen suffered a left knee injury during Sunday's game against the Eagles and his return is questionable.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear how he picked up the injury, but it's apparently serious enough to force him to miss time. As long as Allen is sidelined, Caleb Brantley should see an increase in reps on the defensive line.

Allen had 61 tackles (34 solo) and eight sacks across 779 defensive snaps during the 2018 season.
EDGE Analysis
Limited to five appearances in an injury-shortened rookie season, the No. 17 overall pick from the 2017 draft bounced back strong as a 16-game starter at defensive end during his sophomore campaign. The Washington defense fell apart late in the season, but it has a nice foundation up front with Allen, DT Da'Ron Payne, DL Matt Ioannidis (hamstring) and OLB Ryan Kerrigan accounting for 33.5 of the team's 46 sacks.

Allen posted four tackles (three solo), including a sack, in Saturday's loss to the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
Allen has had a tremendous season in what is his second year in the NFL. After posting one sack in five games as a rookie he now has eight this year for Washington. He'll aim to finish the year strong against the Eagles in Week 17.

Allen had nine tackles (five solo) and a sack in Thursday's 31-23 loss to the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
The nine-tackle explosion is somewhat surprising given Allen entered the afternoon with only 31 tackles for the season, and even more impressive that seven of his tackles Thursday resulted in an Ezekiel Elliott carry going for less that three yards. The 23-year-old played in only five games as a rookie last year but is coming into his own during his sophomore campaign.

Allen recorded three tackles (one solo), including a sack, in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Allen posted two tackles (one solo), including a sack, in Sunday's win over Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Allen's sack Sunday gives him three on the season. He's a capable end for the Redskins, though he hasn't put up consistent or prolific numbers that warrant much IDP consideration. He and the Redskins will take on the Giants in Week 8.

Allen recorded five tackles (three solo), including two sacks in Sunday's win over the Packers.
EDGE Analysis
Allen equaled his tackle total from the first two weeks on Sunday and his sacks were his first of the year. He had just one sack in five games as a rookie and will look to maintain his strong play for the rest of the season. His next outing will be against the Saints in Week 5.

Allen started Friday's preseason loss to the Broncos, picking up one tackle and a quarterback hit on 19 snaps.
EDGE Analysis
Bouncing back from a foot injury that limited him to five games his rookie seasons, the 2017 first-round pick is locked in as a starter. His role in a 3-4 defense probably won't be conducive to IDP production, but Allen should help Washington put up more of a fight against the run this year.
