Allen recorded five tackles (four solo) and a sack across 58 defensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
Allen notched his first sack of the season, taking down Tom Brady late in the first quarter. Allen missed the majority of the first two weeks of the season with a MCL sprain, so as he continues to return to full strength there's a good chance he could see his reps increase.

Allen (knee) is officially active for Monday's tilt against the Bears, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen was initially listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Bears, but he appears to have succeeded in shaking his knee injury. The 2017 first-round pick looks set for his usual starting role along Washington's defensive line.

The Redskins have officially listed Allen (knee) as questionable for Monday's game against the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
Allen saw his workload increase each day at practice week, and even went as far as to deem himself ready to play. Although the team still opted to label him questionable, he appears on track to make his season debut. Allen recorded eight sacks in 2018, so his presence would certainly be beneficial to a Washington defense that has gotten to the quarterback just twice through two games.

Allen (knee) was a limited participant in Friday's practice but said he'll play Monday versus the Bears, Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen dropped eight pounds to help his injured knee, and he said he feels great. Coach Jay Gruden isn't as certain about Allen's status, saying Allen "looked good" but he still needs a solid practice Saturday to be confirmed as ready. The Redskins' defense has only made two sacks this season, so having Allen (eight sacks in 2018) back could rejuvenate the unit.

Allen (knee) hasn't returned to practice and head coach Jon Gruden said Thursday that the team is "just making sure he's going to be okay before he starts individual drills and practice," Les Carpenter of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen originally sustained the sprained knee in Washington's season opener and missed last Sunday's matchup with Dallas because of it. Gruden expressed hope that the 2017 first-round pick would be able to fully practice this week, but it has yet to come to fruition. With the Redskins not facing the Bears until Monday, Allen will have another day to rest and hopefully be prepared for the contest.

Allen (knee) is expected to participate in individual drills this week, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen is managing an MCL sprain suffered during Washington's season opener. He has not participated in practice since suffering the injury, so even being limited to individual drills would be a step in the right direction. Allen will have the benefit of an extra day to get healthy heading into Monday's tilt against the Bears.

Allen (knee) was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, The Team 980 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen suffered the left MCL sprain in the season opener and was a non-participant at practice Wednesday and Thursday, so it's not a major surprise he won't be playing Sunday. Treyvon Hester figures to see an increased role in his absence, especially if Caleb Brantley (ankle) is also ruled out.

Allen (knee) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen also wasn't present on the team's rehab field, so they're clearly taking precautions on the third-year defensive end. The Redskins' pass rush will clearly take a hit in Sunday's game versus the Cowboys if he can't play, especially since Caleb Brantley (ankle) is also hurting. Treyvon Hester will likely start if Allen or Brantley can't go.

Allen (knee) is not expected to be out long-term after suffering an MCL sprain in the Redskins' season opening loss to the Eagles, Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen does not have a concrete time-frame for a return at this point, so consider him week-to-week. He has yet to officially be ruled out for Week 2, but it seems unlikely at this point. Caleb Brantley (ankle), Treyvon Hester, and even T.Y. McGill should all be in line for bigger workloads assuming he sits out.

Allen is considered week-to-week with an MCL sprain and isn't expected to play in Washington's Week 2 game versus the Cowboys, Grant Paulsen of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen played just seven snaps in the season-opening loss to Philadelphia before leaving with the injury. The Redskins' pessimism about Allen's availability seven days in advance of their next game suggests the defensive end could be in line to miss multiple contests. With Caleb Brantley (ankle) also hurting, reserve Tim Settle could move into the starting lineup for Sunday afternoon's matchup with Dallas.
