Metchie caught his only target for three yards and rushed once for minus-7 yards in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Metchie tied for the team lead in receptions in his Jets debut as Justin Fields completed only six passes, while Garrett Wilson (knee) exited early. Fellow recent trade acquisition Adonai Mitchell was inactive for Sunday's win, and even if Mitchell suits up Thursday against the Patriots, Metchie's role is more likely to grow than shrink as he gains familiarity with the playbook. Metchie played eight snaps Sunday.

New York agreed to terms Wednesday on a trade with the Eagles, sending Michael Carter and a 2027 seventh-round pick in exchange for Metchie and a 2027 sixth-round pick, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Metchie handled a depth role for Philadelphia across seven regular-season appearances to open the 2025 campaign, in which span he secured all four of his targets for 18 yards. The 2022 second-round pick, who began his NFL career with Houston, will now get a chance to compete for a depth role in a Jets wide receiver corps that desperately needs additional playmakers behind No. 1 option Garrett Wilson (knee). Tyler Johnson, Allen Lazard, Isaiah Williams and Arian Smith represent Metchie's top competition with his new team.

Metchie wasn't targeted a single time in Sunday's 38-20 win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Metchie did at least see the field for nine offensive snaps after going completely unused the week prior, but his role remains very minor. He's been targeted just four times all season.

Metchie didn't see the field in Sunday's 28-22 win over the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Metchie hasn't played more than seven offensive snaps in any game this season, but that number dropped all the way to zero for the first time in Week 7. While he was not listed on the Eagles' injury report, he spent the whole game on the sidelines, failing to even make an appearance on special teams.

Metchie saw the field for just three offensive snaps and did not catch a pass in Thursday's loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Despite trailing for the entirety of the second half, the Eagles rarely put enough wide receivers on the field for Metchie, the fourth wideout on the depth chart, to see any action. He now has a total of four catches across his first six games with the team.

Metchie caught two passes for a total of 10 yards in Sunday's victory over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Metchie totaled two catches for eight yards across the first three games of the season, so Sunday's performance represented his best of the year. He remains firmly the fourth receiver on the Eagles' depth chart, however, as he saw the field for just five offensive snaps compared to 31 for third wideout Jahan Dotson.

Metchie wasn't targeted and had a 20-yard kickoff return in Thursday's 24-20 win over the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
Metchie played just one snap on offense while Jahan Dotson led the team with 59 receiving yards, suggesting that Dotson has a firm grasp on the third spot on the wide receiver depth chart over the trade acquisition from Houston. Metchie got a chance to contribute in the return game on special teams in the second half after kick returner Will Shipley (ribs) exited in the first half.

Metchie caught one of two targets for 14 yards in Friday's 19-17 preseason win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Metchie made his Eagles debut after being acquired in a trade from the Texans on Sunday. With Philadelphia's preseason now concluded, Metchie is set to begin the regular season in a depth role, though Jahan Dotson didn't do much last season to cement himself as the No. 3 wide receiver behind A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (groin).

The Texans are trading Metchie to the Eagles on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported.
EDGE Analysis
In exchange, the Texans will acquire tight end Harrison Bryant and a 2026 fifth-round pick while also sending a 2026 sixth-round pick to Houston, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Metchie has played a rotational role in Houston's offense since missing his entire rookie campaign due to illness. The 2022 second-round pick caught 24 of 37 targets for 254 yards over 13 regular-season games last year, and it looked like he was in line to open the regular season as Houston's No. 3 wide receiver, as there's still no timetable on when wideout Tank Dell will return after suffering a significant knee injury last December. Instead, his departure should open up more opportunities for the Texans' rookie wideouts with second-rounder Jayden Higgins and third-rounder Jaylin Noel. Meanwhile, Metchie will likely compete with Johnny Wilson for a role behind returning wideouts A.J. Brown (hamstring), DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson in Philadelphia.

Metchie caught five of eight targets for 45 yards while adding 23 yards on one kickoff return in Saturday's 20-10 preseason loss to the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
With Nico Collins and Christian Kirk both held out of the lineup, Metchie got the start and made a quick impact, catching an 18-yard strike from Davis Mills in the first quarter to help set up the Texans' only touchdown of the day. Rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel are the favorites to claim the No. 3 spot on the depth chart to open the regular season, but if the youngsters don't seem ready, Metchie -- a one-time top prospect in his own right who was a second-round pick in 2022 -- might find himself in a bigger role than expected.
