Clausen was released by the Bears on Monday, NFL Network's James Palmer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hopelessly overwhelmed in his two appearances this season, Clausen has yet to show any real signs of being a competent NFL quarterback. David Fales, a 2014 sixth-round draft pick, was promoted from the practice squad to replace Clausen as the backup signal-caller.

Clausen (back) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
Clausen was a late addition to the Bears' injury report after the back issue only limited him during Thursday's practice this week, but it appears he's feeling strong enough to serve in a backup capacity behind Jay Cutler. The Bears' decision to keep third-string quarterback David Fales inactive seems to indicate the team is comfortable with where Clausen is at on the health front.

With Jay Cutler (hamstring) active for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Clausen will move back to a backup role, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cutler's hamstring injury was initially expected to sideline him for multiple games, but he only ended up missing last week's 26-0 loss against the Seahawks. Clausen earned the starting nod for that game and looked completely inept guiding the offense, finishing 9-for-17 with 63 passing yards on the afternoon. Despite that horrid performance, Clausen still ranks above David Fales on the Bears' quarterback depth chart, but he's not in line to see the field again unless Cutler suffers another injury setback.

Clausen completed just 9-of-17 passes for 63 yards in Sunday's 26-0 loss at Seattle. He did not throw a touchdown nor turn the ball over.
EDGE Analysis
Clausen couldn't have had a more difficult situation to deal with, facing the Seahawks on the road, and with the return of Kam Chancellor. He was also missing his best receiver in Alshon Jeffery. In any event, he's likely to make at least one more start next week for an injured Jay Cutler, and that looks to be a better matchup at home against the Raiders.

Clausen will start during Jay Cutler's absence due to a hamstring injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cutler will sit out at least two games with the ailment, affording Clausen the opportunity to start for just the second time since the 2010. In Cutler's place Sunday against the Cardinals, Clausen was 14-of-23 passing for 121 yards with an interception, but he'll likely have difficulty one-upping those modest results in Week 3 against a motivated Seahawks defense in the one of the loudest venues in sport, CenturyLink Field.

Clausen came on for the injured Jay Cutler (hamstring) in the second quarter Sunday against the Cardinals, and he completed 14 of 23 passes for 121 yards and an interception.
EDGE Analysis
Cutler was playing very well before throwing a pick six, which happened to be the play when he suffered the injury. Clausen struggled for much of the day, taking two sacks and fumbling, though the Bears recovered it. Bears head coach John Fox would not say after the game if Cutler is expected to miss any time, but if he does, Clausen would start in Week 3 against the Seahawks.

EDGE Analysis
With the concussion protocol behind him, Clausen will assume his gig as the primary backup to Jay Cutler.

Clausen (concussion) is considered probable for Sunday's season opener against the Packers, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clausen recently returned as a full participant in practice following a concussion suffered during the preseason. As a result, he's expected to be available to back-up starting quarterback Jay Cutler come Sunday.

Clausen (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clausen's participation in practice suggests he's passed all of the league-mandated concussion testing and should be ready to back up Jay Cutler for the Week 1 opener against Green Bay.

Clausen sustained a concussion in Saturday's preseason outing, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
After Clausen's removal from the game due to a head injury, initial tests ruled out a concussion. However, as is often the case with such ailments, his symptoms were delayed, according to head coach John Fox. Clausen will now enter the league's concussion protocol, which should afford David Fales and potentially Shane Carden plenty of snaps in Thursday's final exhibition.
