James was targeted just once, but didn't tally a catch in Thursday's win over the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
James looked like a potential steal earlier in the season. He seldom put up much yardage, but scored in three of Pittsburgh's first five games. In the six weeks since he hasn't had an uptick in yardage, with just one game with over 20 yards receiving, but he hasn't scored and has been targeted in the red zone just three times. Weapons like Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell already made touches hard to come by in Pittsburgh. Now that Ladarius Green is working his way back, things seem likely to get worse before they get better for James.

James caught one of four targets for five yards against the Browns on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
James' role in the offense has dwindled of late, totaling just 108 receiving yards over his past five games. Don't give in to the temptation of inserting James in Week 11 fantasy lineups against a Colts defense that has allowed the fifth most points to opposing tight ends.

James totaled 59 yards on four receptions in Pittsburgh's 35-30 loss to Dallas on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
James was targeted four times, matching Ladarius Green, who made his Steelers' debut. While they may not be Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett, James and Green give Pittsburgh a formidable tight end tandem heading in to Week 11 against Cleveland.

James caught two passes for 13 yards in the Steelers' 21-14 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
James saw four targets on Sunday but, despite trailing all game, none after half time. His fantasy value seems to be touchdown dependent, which does not bode well in Week 10 against a Dallas defense that has not allowed an opposing number one tight end to score in their last five games.

James caught both of this targets for 18 yards Sunday against the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
The second-year tight end out of Penn State has operated as the Steelers' top option at tight end this season, especially in the receiving department. The amount of targets he receives is variable week-to-week, though, making James a touchdown-dependent fantasy option moving forward. However, the impending return of Ladarius Green (ankle) may dampen his prospects in the near future.

James caught two passes on three targets for 13 yards in the Steelers' 30-15 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Through six games this season James has been somewhat inconsistent, and has failed to exceed 40 receiving yards in all but one contest. His three touchdowns have salvaged otherwise lackluster outings, making him difficult to start. With Ladarius Green (ankle) returning to practice, and Ben Roethlisberger (knee) facing surgery, James' fantasy value could be further lessened over the next few weeks.

James caught six of eight targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-13 win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
The Steelers aired it out Sunday as they struggled to generate offense on the ground, leading to season-highs in targets and receptions for James. He should be no better than the fourth or fifth receiving option on his team most weeks, but he clearly has the attention of Ben Roetlisberger in the red zone, as he already has three scores to his name this season. He will look to add to his totals in Week 6 versus the Dolphins.

James had two receptions for 15 yards and a touchdown in Pittsburgh's 43-14 win over Kansas City on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Averaging less than four targets per game the past three weeks, James is making the most of his opportunities, having scored twice over that span. Unfortunately, the limited number of targets makes him a difficult start for fantasy owners. The Steelers next face the Jets who, despite having the sixth worst passing defense in the league, have allowed just one touchdown to opposing tight ends through their first four games. Even with Travis Kelce, Jimmy Graham, Coby Fleener and Julius Thomas all on a bye, look elsewhere for a tight end in Week 5.

James caught two of four targets for 10 yards Sunday in Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
James was basically a non-factor with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger forcing the ball into top wideout Antonio Brown. The second-year tight end likely won't see much volume in a Steelers offense that doesn't lack for weapons, so his value is very touchdown-dependent.

James turned five targets into three catches for 29 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Bengals.
EDGE Analysis
James has emerged as Pittsburgh's top receiving tight end with Ladarius Green (ankle) out for at least six weeks to open the season. While quarterback Ben Roethlisberger largely prefers to throw it to his bevy of talented receivers and running backs, he's still willing to look the 2015 fifth-rounder's way in the red zone. On a high-octane offense like Pittsburgh's, there should be enough chances in close to make James a serious scoring threat week in and week out.
