Gresham (ribs) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gresham was unable to fit in any practice reps a week ago, so his return Thursday, while limited, is a step in the right direction. His usage is Week 1 (73 percent of the offensive snaps) is representative of his import, but he may not reach the threshold if his health remains an issue. Expect his status to become more clear as Monday's game against the Cowboys approaches.

Gresham (ribs) is listed as inactive Sunday in Indianapolis.
EDGE Analysis
Gresham was last seen on the field in Week 1, when he was body slammed by a Lions defender on the Cardinals' last possession of the game. With no practice reps in the meantime, the team will take a cautious approach and hold out the veteran tight end, leaving Troy Niklas (hip), Ifeanyi Momah and Jim Dray to hold down the fort at tight end.

Gresham (ribs) didn't practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Indianapolis, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official sitereports.
EDGE Analysis
Gresham was held out of practice all week, suggesting he's actually closer to 'doubtful' than 'questionable'. Troy Niklas (hip) is dealing with an injury of his own, but he at least managed limited participation Thursday and Friday. If neither tight end is able to play, the Cardinals will turn to Ifeanyi Momah and Jim Dray. Regardless, the team's passing attack will focus on wideouts and running backs, as has always been the case under Bruce Arians.

Gresham (ribs) didn't practice Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
No one in the Cardinals organization has touched on the severity of Gresham's rib injury, but it was painful enough to hold him out for a second straight session. Fellow tight end Troy Niklas landed on the injury report Thursday with a hip issue, which forced a limited showing. Depending on how their respective situations pan out this week, the offense may have to give third TE Ifeanyi Momah significant run Sunday at Indianapolis.

Gresham (ribs) was held out of practice Wednesday, Mike Jurecki of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.
EDGE Analysis
After hurting his ribs late in Sunday's loss at Detroit, Gresham isn't kicking off Week 2 preparations on a positive note. Fortunately, he has two sessions remaining to make his presence felt. A respite would elevate Troy Niklas and Ifeanyi Momah into regular roles Sunday in Indianapolis, though targets may be difficult to come by.

Gresham injured his ribs during Sunday's loss in Detroit, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gresham was likely hurt on a veritable body slam during the Cardinals' last touchdown drive of the game, which drew an unnecessary roughness penalty. As the team's No. 1 tight end, his loss could cause a ripple effect for the pass protection in Arizona, as the next man up is the oft-injured Troy Niklas. Meanwhile, the only other TE on the 53-man roster is Ifeanyi Momah.

Gresham corralled his only target for a one-yard touchdown during Saturday's preseason loss versus the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
Opening the scoring for the Cardinals, Gresham capped an 11-play, 43-yard drive that was set up by a 49-yard interception return from Tyrann Mathieu. After re-upping with the Cards in the offseason, Gresham is the tight end of choice for head coach Bruce Arians, but TEs in this offense are expected to supplement the blocking scheme rather than act as pass-catchers. No matter, Gresham was targeted in the red zone seven times in 2016, so he should be good for a few touchdowns in the upcoming campaign.

Gresham signed a four-year contract with the Cardinals on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gresham has spent the past two seasons in the desert, recording 37 receptions for 391 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games last year. The 28-year-old seems likely to secure the No. 1 spot at tight end ahead of Darren Fells, who is a restricted free agent this offseason. Gresham's signing gives the Cardinals one less thing to worry about, as the bulk of their offensive unit will remain intact with Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald already confirming their return next season.

Gresham gathered in 37 of 61 targets for 391 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games during the 2016 season.
EDGE Analysis
Blanked in four separate contests, including the season finale, Gresham nonetheless hearkened back to the first five years of his career with the Bengals. In fact, if one prorates the outings in which he recorded a reception to a 16-game slate, he would have accounted for 49 catches, 521 yards, and 2.7 touchdowns. After a nondescript first season in the desert -- 18/223/1 in 15 games -- he garnered interest from a number of organizations last offseason but returned to the Cardinals on a team-friendly one-year, $3 million contract. The recent production will more than likely drive up his market, and with 19 unrestricted free agents to deal with in the coming months, Gresham may have to settle for different climes if the price isn't right in Arizona.

Gresham tallied two catches (on four targets) for 40 yards during Saturday's win at Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
Gresham has become a safety net for Carson Palmer in the Cardinals' passing attack as the season has progressed, securing multiple receptions and at least 30 yards receiving in eight consecutive contests. Among his two catches in Week 16, his 34-yard grab in the second quarter marked the fourth of 20-plus yards during the aforementioned stretch. Having said that, he may find difficulty extending the streak next Sunday on the road against a Rams defense that has allowed opposing tight end corps to surpass 25 yards in a given game just twice in the past six outings.
