Jermaine Gresham caught four passes for 27 yards in Cincinnati's Week 3 win over the Packers, but also lost a fumble. Gresham out-targeted rookie teammate Tyler Eifert 5-2, but never made his presence felt outside of his fumble. With Eifert there to siphon away targets, Gresham is a very low-end TE2.

Jermaine Gresham caught six passes for 66 yards in the Bengals' Week 2 win over the Steelers on Monday night. Gresham was targeted nine times on the night with the Steelers taking A.J. Green away on the outside. The Bengals ran a ton of "12" personnel, featuring one back and two tight ends. Tyler Eifert saw five targets of his own. Gresham also committed four penalties on Monday, two false starts and two holds. He's a middling TE2, though give him a bump next week against the Packers. Green Bay has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends through two weeks.

Jermaine Gresham caught five passes for 35 yards in the Bengals' Week 1 loss to the Bears. He saw the same number of targets as Tyler Eifert (five), which is the inherent concern when there are two tight ends on the same team that are involved in the passing game. Gresham is highly unlikely to be a reliable fantasy asset in 2013, and we don't particularly like Eifert's chances at consistency, either. That could change if one of them got injured.

Gresham finishes the preseason with five catches for 39 yards. Thanks to the presence of Eifert, Gresham is no longer a fill-in TE1.

OC Jay Gruden insists Jermaine Gresham is still the Bengals' starting tight end despite Thursday's selection of Tyler Eifert. "I don't think Jermaine has a lot to worry about," Gruden claimed. "(Eifert's) going to come in here and add another element with the two tight end package or three tight end package." Although the Eifert pick is a clear indictment of Gresham's progress - or lack thereof - there's indeed still a good chance he'll reamin the Bengals' most targeted tight end. He's no longer even a borderline TE1, however. Thanks to his landing spot, Eifert is going to have a hard time making a fantasy impact as a rookie.

The Cincinnati Enquirer says Jermaine Gresham has improved on his yards-after-catch (YAC) skills. Gresham's YAC jumped from 3.6 in 2011 to 6.9 in 2012. We're still not impressed. Lacking any breakaway speed or elusiveness, Gresham's upside is always going to be capped. He also struggled with drops last season, recording 10 in 17 games -- including two in the playoff loss to the Texans.

Texans SS Glover Quin deserves credit for sticky coverage on Gresham, but this was a brutally inefficient game for Cincinnati's tight end. Gresham had an ugly drop on Cincinnati's opening drive for what would've been a surefire first-down gain, and another toward the end of the second quarter with Cincinnati down 9-7 and trying to rally before the half. Gresham let yet another ball glance off his hands late in the first half that nearly turned into an interception. Gresham ranked 11th in regular season fantasy points among tight ends. We've been unimpressed with his movement and separation skills and would not anticipate a 2013 leap.

Jermaine Gresham was held without a catch in Cincinnati's Week 17 playoff tuneup win against the Ravens. Gresham was targeted just once on the day as he played sparingly throughout the first half before finally resting on the sideline for the final 30 minutes of action. The third-year pro set career-highs in catches, with 64, and yards, with 737, in 2012. He also visited the end zone five times. Gresham and the Bengals will open the divisional round of the playoffs on the road next weekend as the No. 6 seed.

Jermaine Gresham caught three passes for 38 yards in Sunday's win over the Steelers. Gresham averaged over 50 yards receiving and had two touchdowns over his previous five games, but was hardly used in the passing game on Sunday. Despite ranking eighth in yards and sixth in receptions at his position, Gresham has struggled with drops and run-blocking this season. He currently grades out as the worst overall tight end by Pro Football Focus.
