Langford's main competition for a roster spot, Ka'Deem Carey, had wrist surgery and will be sidelined about six weeks, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Langford was assumed to be competing with Carey for one of the final roster spots at running back, and with Carey unavailable, that should help Langford's odds of making the regular season roster. However, he'll likely find himself behind Jordan Howard, Tarik Cohen and Bennie Cunningham, so even if he makes the squad, his fantasy value could be very limited.

Langford (ankle) participated in his first full practice of camp Wednesday, WGN's Adam Hoge reports.
EDGE Analysis
Langford had been easing his way back from a sprained ankle, which ultimately kept him sidelined for the Bears' first preseason contest. It's unclear at this point how involved he'll be during Saturday's preseason tilt against the Cardinals, as the Bears may elect to play it safe with the health of their No. 2 running back behind Jordan Howard.

Langford (ankle) isn't expected to play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Broncos, Adam Hoge of WGN Radio reports.
EDGE Analysis
Langford is slowly working his way back from a sprained ankle he suffered in the early days of training camp. In his absence, Benny Cunningham and Ka'Deem Carey should be the next two in behind Jordan Howard, with 2017 fourth-rounder Tarik Cohen and undrafted rookie Josh Rounds to follow -- and likely in that order.

Langford (ankle) is still slowly working his way back to action, Bears' play-by-play announcer Jeff Joniak reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lanford went down with a sprained ankle at the beginning of training camp. The severity of the issue was unknown at the time, but it was apparently a relatively bad sprain. Langford is expected to battle with Ka'Deem Carey for a backup running back role, so a return to the field will be advantageous for his chances.

Langford sprained his ankle and missed Friday's practice, Brad Biggs on Twitter reports.
EDGE Analysis
No specifics were given as to the severity of the injury, so it's impossible to project how much time he'll miss. Langford's expected to be battling for a roster spot with Ka'Deem Carey, and it certainly would help Langford compete if he recovers quickly.

Langford (ankle) could be battling with Ka'Deem Carey for one roster spot, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After rushing for 3.2 yards per carry in 2016, Langford's performance is likely one of the main reasons the team brought in Benny Cunningham and Tarik Cohen in the offseason. Regardless, Langford could be battling for a roster spot, and he'll not only need to beat out Carey, but he'll need to overtake the two new additions to secure some fantasy value behind Jordan Howard.

Langford has been slow to recover from offseason ankle surgery, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The procedure was to address a high-ankle sprain in Langford's right leg that he suffered in Week 3 of last season and never fully recovered from. Since his availability for the preseason appears to be in question, it's fair to assume Langford won't be ready for the start of training camp, which starts July 27.

Langford will face competition for passing-down work from free-agent signing Benny Cunningham, ESPN's Mike Clay reports.
EDGE Analysis
Langford opened last season as Chicago's three-down workhorse, but he clearly wasn't up to the task even before he hurt his ankle in Week 3. Rookie standout Jordan Howard emerged as the team's workhorse shortly thereafter, relegating Langford to a chance-of-pace role upon his return from injury. The 2015 fourth-round selection doesn't offer much in terms of power or elusiveness, but he should at least have a shot to compete with Cunningham for a role spelling Howard on passing downs. Howard is a decent pass-catcher in his own right, which means such a job probably wouldn't lead to much fantasy utility. Langford may have to earn his roster spot in training camp.

Langford rushed 10 times for 26 yards and caught three passes for 41 yards in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Vikings to finish the season with 200 rushing yards and four touchdowns along with 19 receptions for 142 yards.
EDGE Analysis
In the last two games of the season, the Bears deactivated Ka'Deem Carey, and installed Langford as the clear change-of-pace option to Jordan Howard, and he responded with 90 yards and a touchdown on 21 touches. After rushing for just 3.6 yards per carry as a rookie in 2015, he only rushed for 3.2 yards per carry in 62 rushing attempts this year, but unless Chicago brings in another running back to compete for backup duties, he'll likely begin the 2017 season as the primary handcuff option for Howard. However, if he sees the same type of work load that he saw over the last two games of the season, he'll also carry flex value.

Langford rushed seven times for 19 yards and a touchdown while catching one pass for 4 yards in Sunday's 41-21 defeat to Washington.
EDGE Analysis
After Cameron Meredith was tackled at the one-yard line, the Bears didn't substitute players, allowing Langford to remain on the field to cash in on a goal line scoring opportunity. However, with Ka'Deem Carey inactive, Langford had a few extra touches while Howard was held out of the game briefly after being shaken up. He'll continue to be an emergency-only fantasy option next week against the Vikings.
