Ruggs has now been cut by the Raiders and is facing felony charges of DUI resulting in death and reckless driving after being involved in a car accident in Las Vegas early Tuesday morning, per the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. It was a two-car accident and a deceased person was discovered in one of the vehicles, and Ruggs was reportedly the driver of the other vehicle. The 22-year-old displayed signs of impairment at the scene and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital.

Ruggs, who apparently was the driver of the offending vehicle, stayed on the scene and displayed signs of being impaired before he was taken to the hospital to get treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Ruggs caught four passes on as many targets for 24 yards and added a seven-yard rush in Sunday's 33-22 win over the Eagles.

Ruggs' streak of six consecutive games with at least one reception of 20-plus yards came to an end Sunday, as he was outproduced by fellow receivers Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards on a day that quarterback Derek Carr managed to complete 31 of 34 pass attempts. Carr also directed six targets at tight end Foster Moreau, who capitalized with six catches for 60 yards and a touchdown as he filled in for an injured Darren Waller (ankle). Heading into the Raiders' Week 8 bye, Ruggs has hauled in 24 passes for 469 yards and two scores on 36 targets through seven games.

As did Bryan Edwards (hamstring), which sets the stage for the Raiders to head into Sunday's game against the Eagles with their top two wideouts available for Week 7 action. Ruggs, who caught three of his four targets for 97 yards and a touchdown in last week's win over the Broncos, will take aim this weekend at a Philadelphia defense that has allowed an average of 211.8 passing yards (fifth fewest in the league) and 12 TDs via the air through six contests.

As was fellow wideout Bryan Edwards (hamstring). We'll revisit the duo's status Thursday, but thus far there's nothing to suggest that Ruggs is in any danger of missing Sunday's game against the Eagles. In the Raiders' Week 6 win over the Broncos, Ruggs caught three of his four targets for 97 yards and a TD, while logging a 66 percent snap share opposite Edwards (77 percent).

The four targets are a meager total, but Ruggs' 48-yard touchdown in the first quarter put the Broncos at a disadvantage they never recovered from, and it's possible that the Raiders would have gone to Ruggs more if the game had been closer. Derek Carr attempted a season-low 27 passes, and that likely had a limiting effect on Ruggs' target count. While he may never be a high-volume receiver -- his season high in targets is just seven through six games -- Ruggs has been highly efficient in each 2021 game to this point. He's averaging a 40-yard reception every other game, and if his target volume does somehow rise in upcoming weeks, he could tap into another level. In the meantime, though, the crowded pass-catcher rotation of Darren Waller, Bryan Edwards and Hunter Renfrow poses formidable target competition to Ruggs. He faces the Eagles at home in Week 7.

On a lackluster day for the Raiders' passing attack, Ruggs posted his second consecutive three-catch tally. The speedster's receiving yardage total was second on the afternoon to that of Hunter Renfrow's, although it also marked the third straight time Ruggs' production in that category declined over that of the prior game. The second-year pro will look to reverse that unfavorable trend in a Week 6 road battle against the Broncos.

EDGE Analysis

Ruggs entered Monday coming off consecutive games with at least 75 yards and although he couldn't continue that streak, the speedster was once again featured vertically within Las Vegas' offense. Along with drawing a deep pass-interference call earlier, Ruggs hauled in a 51-yard bomb during the fourth quarter and was targeted on another downfield shot later. Overall, he led the Raiders in receiving yards and showed further glimpses of his explosive upside to complement Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow within the starting lineup.

Ruggs caught four of seven targets for 78 yards and took his lone carry for seven yards in Sunday's 31-28 overtime win over the Dolphins.

EDGE Analysis

Ruggs showcased impressive body control on several sideline catches, and he also made a leaping grab over All-Pro cornerback Xavien Howard during the Raiders' first touchdown drive of the contest late in the second quarter. The Alabama product has seen seven targets in back-to-back games, and his 237 total receiving yards rank 15th in the NFL through Week 3. Ruggs will now face a Chargers secondary that just held Kansas City speedster Tyreek Hill to 56 yards on five catches.

Ruggs recorded five receptions on seven targets for 113 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Steelers.

EDGE Analysis

Ruggs had only 15 total yards at halftime, but he made the Steelers pay throughout the second half to help the Raiders to a win. On the team's second possession of the the third quarter, he got open down the middle of the field for a 30-yard gain, which set up a nine-yard touchdown on the next play for Foster Moreau. Ruggs finished the job himself one quarter later, when he cut through the middle of the field for a 61-yard touchdown. The effort marked the second time that Ruggs has topped 100 yards receiving in 15 games in the NFL.
