Ngata (calf) is listed as active Sunday against the Vikings, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ngata will prop up the Lions' run defense for the first time since Week 4, but his IDP utility remains negligible, as he's recorded a mere six tackles (four solo) in four games in his new clime.

Ngata (calf) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Ngata isn't worthy of consideration in IDP formats, but his return should help a Detroit run defense that won't have fellow starting DT Tyrunn Walker (knee) for the rest of the season.

Ngata is dealing with a calf injury and has been ruled out for the Lions' Week 6 tilt with the Bears, MLive.com's Justin Rogers reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the lane-clogging Ngata unavailable after failing to practice this week due to a calf strain, the Lions could have difficulty containing Matt Forte and the Bears' ground game. Ngata is expected to be replaced in the starting lineup by Jermelle Cudjo.

Ngata (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Vikings, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ngata was only a limited participant in practice this week, but there never seemed to be any serious doubt about his availability for Sunday's game. The Lions will count on Ngata to clog Adrian Peterson's running lanes and be an anchor on the defensive line, which doesn't typically translate to much fantasy utility.

Ngata (hamstring) was removed from the non-football injury list Monday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ngata picked up a hamstring injury earlier in the summer and has been sidelined throughout the preseason as a result. Before being activated, Ngata was already able to work out which suggests that a return for the season opener on Sept. 13 against the Chargers is a real possibility even though he just recently rejoined team practices.

Ngata (hamstring) ran before the Lions' preseason game against Jacksonville and head coach Jim Caldwell says he "looks good," Josh Katzenstein of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Caldwell indicated that both Ngata and running back Joique Bell could be ready to play in the short term, unless they aren't. Caldwell added that both could also, conceivably, be on the sideline for the start of the season depending on how they progress. The fact that Ngata was running before Friday's game should be considered a positive step and, given his experience, he should be able to slide right into the starting lineup once he's healthy. A space eater in recent seasons in Baltimore, Ngata will be asked to attack more in the Lions' scheme.

Ngata will head to Detroit to replace the departed Ndamukong Suh on the defensive line. A suspension limited Ngata to 12 games last season, but he remains one of the league's premier defensive linemen.

Ngata returned to practice Tuesday, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Ngata is eligible to resume playing this week after completing a four-game suspension. He should help beef up a run defense that uncustomarily gave up over 100 yards on the ground each of the last two weeks.

Ngata has been suspended for the remainder of the regular season for a violation of the league's policy on performance enhancing substances.
Ngata owned up to his mistake in an official statement, where he admitted to taking the drug Adderall, which is commonly used to treat Attention Deficit Disorder. The defensive lineman will sit for the next four games, but should see an opportunity to return if the team is able to clinch a playoff berth. Ngata is one of the better lineman from an IDP standpoint, collecting 32 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions so far in 2014. The Ravens will look to Timmy Jernigan or DeAngelo Tyson to see an increased role in his absence.

Ngata had eight tackles (five solo), a sack and a forced fumble in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Bengals.
Ngata's strip-sack of Andy Dalton was probably Baltimore's biggest play in the game, as the veteran lineman continues to impress in what can arguably be called a bounce-back season. After playing a bit below his high standards the last two years, Ngata is back to dominating opposing offensive linemen, albeit with little payoff from a statistical perspective. His two interceptions are fluky, while he still only has 23 tackles (14 solo) and the one sack through eight games.
