Ngata (shoulder) didn't practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear when this injury was sustained so the severity is unknown, but being listed as questionable is a good sign it's not long term. Ngata is listed as the starting defensive tackle even though he hasn't been receiving a bulk of the defnsive snaps. With just five solo tackles and a sack this season, his IDP value is minimal.

Ngata heads into his 12th NFL season with no health issues, Mike O'Hara of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran defensive tackle wanted to make sure he was completely healthy heading into the new season and even underwent neurological exam to determine if he has sustained any brain damage over his career. The results showed no brain damage, according to the defensive tackle. "The brain is good to go...I wanted to make sure my head was good. He (the neurologist) said everything was pretty good - really good, actually...Just to make sure, with all things that are going on with the brain and stuff throughout the league, I don't want to have problems when I'm older", Ngata said. The defensive tackle missed some time last year due to calf and quad issues but still managed to record 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks through 13 games.

Ngata (shoulder) is expected to be out 2-to-3 weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ngata suffered from the injury in Sunday's game against the Eagles, and it ends up being a huge blow for Detroit's defense, as they will be without their top defensive tackle for at least the next two games. Expect backups Khyri Thornton and A'Shawn Robinson to see more time on the field in Ngata's absence.

Ngata has signed a two-year deal to remain with the Lions, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ngata will thus continue to be a key part of the Lions' interior defensive line, with his arrival in a trade with the Ravens last March having occurred in the wake of the departure of Ndamukong Suh. With 24 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 14 games this past season, Ngata is off the IDP radar in all but the deepest of fantasy formats.
